Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in Washington. I love to Pole Vault. I play the trumpet. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to be in the out doors. Just being in nature is so peaceful, fun, and beautiful. I love hiking, and doing anything athletic. I also enjoy all types of sports especially basketball! I was on the track team ( now graduated) track was so much, fun I love it! I've done the mile before but I usually stuck with high jump, long jump, and pole vault. I have been playing the trumpet for over 6 years I've participated in our high school's Marching band, Concert bands, and Jazz band. Out of those three I enjoys Jazz the most.

Why I am a Mormon

At a young age probably I watched my father get up early and read his scriptures before he headed off to work. It was seeing his example that got me interested in reading the Book of Mormon. So wanting to be like him, I started reading it when I right when I got up. I continued reading it and after a while it just was what seemed right to do, and I continued to read it. After a long time of reading it and rereading it I thought it was true but I didn't really know for myself if it was and everyone else said it was and I was getting older and I hadn't really prayed to know if it was true. So one day I got on my knees and prayed to know if it was true. I was expecting something huge thing to happen like a voice to tell me it was true or some miraculous thing to happen but nothing really happened.... well a little bit after that I was in a LDS Seminary class and the lesson was on the Book of Mormon. At the end of the lesson the instructor invited those who knew the Book of Mormon was true to come and write there name on the white board in front of the class. I sat there feeling awkward watching everyone go up and write there names. As I sat there wanting to go up and write my name but not wanting to go up and write my name and lie that I knew it was true if I didn't. I had a thought come to me, because I've read this book I am the person that I am today. I've made good decisions because of this book, by applying the teachings that it taught. I knew then it was true.

How I live my faith

It's been a goal for me to say my prayers morning and evening every day to express my gratitude to God for all he's done for me as well as ask him for help with things. I also try to read scriptures every day. Every month I go out with my dad as my partner and teach two families in the neighborhood. This is a calling that's been given by the church to us Its actually fun and I learn things each time. There's a group of 15 boys from 16-19 yrs old in our church ward and every week we switch off giving lessons at church. I help assign some of these guys to talk as well as teach some myself.
