Hi I'm Fekirte Deskins

I grew up in Ethiopia. I'm the youngest of 6 kids. I'm a student. I'm going on a mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm lost my parents when I was a child and was adopted to the most amazing family. I speak two languages fluently and I'm learning to speak Japanese right now. Growing up I was homeschooled which helped me to attend a community college when I was 16. When I have free time I enjoy being with my friends and family. A good book also goes along way. I like hiking, playing soccer, listening to world music and trying new things. I'm a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Growing up I was professionally trained to do Tradtional Ethiopian dancing. Whenever I hear music I can't stop moving. I love meeting new people with different cultural and background.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is very important to me and when my adoptive parents introduce me to the church and how important family was in the gospel I knew I needed to learn more. I remember feeling hungry for Christ's teaching and what it means to be children of God. I love the Book of Mormon, the words are full of power and wisdom. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ. I know God is always there for me, answering my prayers and up lifting me. This gospel means everything to me. It has shaped me to be the person I am today. I chose to do good and be good because it has brought me so much happiness and joy. I chose to be on the Lord side because by following his teaching and example I know I shall be with my family one day. I love this church and its principles and teachings. The Holy Ghost has become my best friend. He's always there guiding me, prompting me to do the right thing and warning me where there's danger. I'm going on a mission to stand as a witness that my Savior lives and loves each and everyone of us. I know I'm a Daughter of God and He loves and knows

How I live my faith

I have worked with the young women in my ward. I have sang with the chore and helped clean the church building. I help direct the ward pray in my ward.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Fekirte Deskins
We are the disciples of Christ. We live by His examples and teachings. He helped the poor and blessed the sick. As followers of Christ we try to help everyone, from our neighborhood even across the global. Mormons are always ready to help those in need. Show more Show less
