Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Salt Lake City. I Love to read and spend time with my Family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a total book worm, I just love to read! I enjoy swimming, attending school (total nerd, I know!). I've attended college but have recently taken a break so I could have the opportunity to serve a Mission. I love to do volunteer work at a Clinic. I also do Math tutoring or I babysit or dogsit. I just love to smile all the time and think positively. I try to see the good in everyone and not judge. I'm pretty easy to get along with, although some people may sometimes find me weird (in a good way of course). I'm a hard worker, and a good listener.

Why I am a Mormon

I was only 13 when I realized that this church is true. It was at a girls camp that our church held for 12 and 13 years olds. We had gathered around with our camp leader around the bond fire and we started off with a prayer and a Hymn. After that we each took turn sharing our Testimony. As I sat there and listened to each girl say what they truly believed, I felt this warm inner peace in my heart and knew right away that this church was true. Since then I've wanted to share this gospel to all those who are willing to listen, because I know in my heart and soul that this church is true. I know that our Heavenly Father loves each one of us. We are his children and he wants each one of us to return one day to him. I know he listens to our prayers, and will always be there for us no matter what. He knows we're not perfect but he loves us all the same and will not leave our side especially when we most need him. I know through prayer he will listen to us and answer our prayers if we pray with a sincere heart and open mind. I know that our prophets are called of God and through them we may also receive the word of God. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that he loved us so much he died for our sins. I know that he still lives and loves each one us as individuals. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

In church I have two callings, I'm a leader for all the 8-11 year old girls. We meet up every other Thursday to do some fun activities such as swimming, baking cookies, cupcakes, letter making, games, and other exciting stuff. This allows them to prepare for their future for when they turn twelve and go into Young womens which are ages 12-18. My other calling is for every Sunday I teach the little 3 year olds lessons of our faith that they are able to understand.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Emily
Mormons are not required to serve a mission it is optional whether they want to or not. It gives those who are 18 or 19 (now that the age has been changed) an opportunity to go out and preach the gospel to all those who are willing to listen so they too may have the joy we have in our gospel.
