Hi I'm Jake Bentley

Born and raised in Utah, I love trying new things, I love playing sports, I love my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jake Bentley and I love the diversity of interesting things that this world has to offer. I love sports. All of them. Basketball, football, baseball, soccer, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, badminton, tennis, all of them! I love to read and to learn new, interesting things. I have done a year at BYU and I plan to someday go to medical school. I am currently serving a mission in Kobe, Japan, and will not return home until May, 2015. I love this gospel so much and am so incredibly grateful for the happiness and hope that it gives me each day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happier than anything else. I know without a doubt in my mind that this gospel is true, and that it blesses families and individuals with the purest of joys that we can experience in this life. I have a firm testimony of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. I know that Heavenly Father loves all of His children, and that he has prepared a way for them to return to Him, as they pray to Him, learn of Him, and heed the promptings of His Spirit. I know that He calls prophets today which can make His will known to us. I know that there is no greater joy in this life than can be found as we align our will with God's, and allow ourselves to be instruments in His hands to help and serve others of His precious children.

How I live my faith

I feel that everything that we do in this life is either bringing someone closer to Christ, or distancing them from Christ, so I try to make sure that I am always doing thing to bring them closer to Him. As I am currently serving a mission, I have a unique opportunity to do just that. However, I know that missionary work can and should be done regardless of whether or not we are full-time missionaries. I have had the incredible opportunity to serve in a number of leadership positions as I have progressed in the priesthood, and have absolutely loved each of those opportunities, along with the other callings that I have been blessed to serve in. I live my faith as I diligently study in my scriptures and pray to Heavenly Father every day, and as I seek to receive and heed the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
