Hi I'm Mary

I grew up in Utah. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am preparing to serve a full time mission to Salem Oregon! Right now I am a student at Weber State University studying music. I love playing the piano! I love nature and watching the sunsets, whether at home or on vacation. I am the youngest of 7 kids, and I enjoy spending time with my siblings whom I am close to, as well as my nieces and nephew.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have grown up in the Church. All of my immediate family were members, and I was taught gospel principles since I was a child. Most of the principles and doctrines of the gospel I gained a testimony of little by little. As I got older, I wanted to know for sure if I had my own testimony, or if I knew what I knew because my parents knew them. I think I gained a testimony of God's love for me when I was asked to share my feelings about the Savior when I received my patriarchal blessing. As I was talking, I felt the spirit testifying to me that what I was saying was true. Christ loves me more than I can imagine or comprehend. I felt that witness again as I received my blessing. I know that Heavenly father loves me, that Jesus is the Christ and died for me. I also know that because He loves me so much, He has given the way for me to have happiness and joy in this life through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, if I simply follow Him and do all that I can to become like Him. My testimony of this gospel and of Heavenly Father and His Son has helped me go through some of life's difficulties and hard times. It is what causes a smile to be on my face wherever I go because I know God lives, and that He love us, and that we all can return to live with Him, and be with our families again. Nothing can bring such peace and joy in this life than the firm belief in God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what I know is right. As I study the scriptures daily I am able to better understand and know what I can do or change in my life to become closer to God. being involved with my ward is one way that I live my faith. I teach the women in my ward, and I also help organize our ward's weekly get-together, or Family Home Evening. I also visit teach a few girls in my ward. I enjoy getting to know them and helping them with things such as yard sales, getting a ride to Church, etc. Serving others is a big way in which I can live my faith. doing things such as cleaning our meetinghouse, yard work for the elderly in the ward, etc. makes me feel closer to the people in the community, and helps me see those people as fellow children of God.
