Hi I'm Marcus

I am from Las Vegas. I love movies, television shows and music. I love my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas in a family with 9 kids. I wrestled in high school, and love watching and playing all sports. I am a total movie buff, I love television shows, and am constantly listening to music. My family and friends have molded me into the person I am today, and I cannot wait to have a family of my own. I absolutely love babies and little kids, and truly believe I am better with them than with people my own age. I prefer laughing instead of talking, and love to joke around and smile. I pride myself in being a hard worker, and love serving others. After a year at BYU in Provo, Utah, I returned to Provo on July 24th, 2013 to enter the Missionary Training Center where I began my mission to Mérida Mexico! I am a missionary, I am a a disciple of Christ, and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that I have a Father in Heaven who sent his only begotten Son to pay the price for our sins, and show us the way to return with him. That way is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I go to church, pray to my Heavenly Father, and follow the commandments for the same reason. I love this gospel with all of my heart, and there is nowhere else on the planet that we can truly fulfill our divine potential than in this Church. I continue to strive and live His gospel because I have a testimony in Jesus Christ, and in His church. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon was translated by a prophet of God and that it is the word of God. I know that I can live with my family for eternity, and that fact alone leaves me willing to do whatever it takes to attain that. This gospel is one of love for one another and of the love of Christ. Although none of us are perfect now and cannot hope to be anytime soon, through the atonement of Christ we can be perfected and live with our Heavenly Father again. It is this knowledge, and my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always keep my heart pointed towards Christ. Everything stems to and from our Savior and brother, Jesus Christ, and I know that He loves me. People always ask me how I survive not being able to do things that are contrary to the Church's teachings. But I am not forced to do anything. I understand that I have agency, and I CHOOSE to follow the commandments because they draw me closer to Christ. I absolutely love service. My favorite way to spend a Saturday morning is helping a family move, or doing yard work for a member in my ward. I love the feeling of accomplishment I get during and after serving someone. I have chosen to serve our Heavenly Father for two years on a mission, and while I miss my family and friends, I know there isn´t anything else more important than spreading this happiness that I have. As a missionary, I am a representative of Jesus Christ. My message to the world is that He lives. That He loves you and wants you to come close to Him. I try my best to be a channel for people to feel His love for them. I try my best to love everybody! There are so many things in the world that distract us from God's plan, and I try my best every day to spend my time in a way that pleases our Heavenly Father. Just as I would never want to disappoint my dad, I never want to disappoint my Father in Heaven. His love is infinite, and He gave His only begotten Son to pay the price for our eternal life. How could I not live my faith knowing that?
