Hi I'm Hallie Mitchell

I am a senior in high school. I've lived and travelled all over the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently finishing my senior year of high school! I am very excited to continue on with my education this fall in Provo at Brigham Young University. I have always had so much love for children which is why I'll study early childhood education to someday be a kindergarten teacher. I also look forward to serving a full-time LDS mission in the near future. I am one for adventures. Scuba diving, hiking, snowboarding, travelling, eating, I dig it all. Aside from hours of homework, I play second base for my varsity high school softball team. I have passion for the game and love for my team. But above all else that keeps me going is my family. I am so glad I have them to turn to throughout different aspects of my life. I love to joke and smile. And I am grateful for this beautiful life.

Why I am a Mormon

It'd be so easy to say I am a Mormon because of my parents and it's just how I have been raised. But I would not say that that has anything at all to do with why I choose to be a Mormon. I choose to be a Mormon because it's through the church that I find real happiness. This gospel makes me so happy I just want to share it with everyone, any opportunity I get. A huge reason of why I am a Mormon is because of one of their principles that states that families are together forever. I love my family more than imaginable. I have a loving father and mother who have raised me to become who I am today. I owe them for guiding me in the right direction. I have an older brother who has also given me another sister and two stud nephews. I have an older sister who is beyond gorgeous and intelligent. And then there is my baby brother who's always been my best friend. I want nothing more than to be with them all for eternity. And this gospel gives me that. I'm a member because I truly believe. How could something that brings on such a comforting feeling be wrong? It can't. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who is looking out for me. And I know that my brother Jesus Christ died so that I may return again with Him. I continue to follow because I am not going to let His suffering be for nothing. I know the only way to make it back is through this gospel. And I am going to do everything I can to get there. I love this gospel. And I hope one day everyone can love it as much as I do.

How I live my faith

The way I live each day is based greatly on my calling, or position, in the church. I am the Laurels President which pretty much is the leader of the girls in my area between the ages 12-18. And by having this call it means I have many eyes watching me. I want to be an example to the girls, someone who wouldn't be ashamed if one of them saw me. I start off each day with a personal prayer and then scripture study. Sometimes I slip up and forget but when I do remember to my days seem to be much easier and enjoyable. Then I carry about my day living the standards I uphold. I wear modest clothing to show respect for my body. I do not use bad language because there are much better words I can find. I live everyday in a way that I would if my Savior were standing beside me the whole way. And then I end my day in prayer. I notice when I am doing the right things I have a much better day and feel a lot happier. I want to be an example to everyone. And the only way is to live what I believe.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Hallie Mitchell
If you want to know if Mormonism is true you have to try, sincerely try. You have to strive to read the Book of Mormon so that you can find the truthfulness yourself. You have to pray. Ask Heavenly Father if this is true. Be open to the spirit, it will speak the truth to your spirit, mind, and heart. But to get the spirit you must follow the commandments. If you do these things whole-heartedly, you will know too. And you won't be able to deny it. Show more Show less
