Hi I'm Jessica

I'm serving a mission to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I love the Gospel of Christ. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of five kids. My family is not perfect, but they have helped me to become who I am and I love them so much! I love basketball, waterskiing, and camping! Music is a huge part of my life-it has such power and influence! I play the piano, flute, and guitar. I'm going to school to be a nurse. I am serving the Lord as a full-time missionary in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of members of the church, and so naturally, I grew up surrounded by these beliefs. However, there came a point in my life when I realized I couldn't just rely on my parents' beliefs. I felt like I was doing the right things and I felt like I believed in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ- but I had to come to a knowledge of the truth myself. When I read the Book of Mormon for the first time on my own, with real intent, I decided to actually take the challenge at the end of the book, and pray to my Heavenly Father to know if the Book of Mormon was true and if I was doing what He wanted me to be doing. I received such a strong feeling of peace, and the thought came, "You already know." I had to get that confirmation. There was nothing sweeter to me than to come to the realization that I was on the right track and that continuing to be a member of God's church is what I should continue to do. The thing that I love about this church is that I am always reminded that my Heavenly Father loves me. I am always urged to do my best and to become more like Jesus Christ everyday. This gospel is one of progression. And we are all invited to come unto Christ, our Savior. He is our comforter, redeemer, friend, and mediator, who loves us and wants us to return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven with eternal exaltation. I KNOW that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He knows what I'm going through and is always there to help us along the way. I KNOW that the church of Jesus Christ was restored by the prophet Joseph Smith and that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God-that book is true. It holds such precious truths and doctrine. I KNOW that living prophets are not a thing of the past-we have a living prophet today that is the mouthpiece of God. I KNOW that Jesus Christ is the head of this church and I will follow Him forever. This knowledge makes me truly happy and gives me hope and faith in the better things to come.

How I live my faith

I have had some really great experiences to serve in my different wards. I have been able to play the organ for our church meetings and, in college, I've had the privilege to teach and lead discussions with other young women my age. We have uplifted and encouraged each other during hard times and made some awesome friendships.
