About Me

Hi! My name is Colby Harris. I grow up in the suburbs of Las Vegas, Nevada and just recently moved to St. Geogre, Utah with my family . I'm the oldest of four kids. I have two brothers and one sister. My hobbies are playing music, Setting up sounding systems and working on cars. I play the piano, gutiar and drums which i very much enjoy playing. I also write and record my own music occasionally. I also worked at a car wash before i went on my mission for about a year. I am currently on the Spokane Washington mission and I'm very blessed to serve here. I will be attending BYU Idaho after my mission. I also use to run track and play football at my high school. one of my other interests is personal fitness. I enjoy jogging, riding bikes, and lifting weights to keep myself in shape. I also enjoy playing basketball , racquetball, BMX and snowboarding too. I always find myself doing something outdoors enjoying the nature of the world. As I said before I grow up in Las Vegas and have been their almost my whole life. It is a blessing to been there for my childhood. Vegas is a great place and the people are so welcoming and caring. I enjoyed the friends and family I have grow to meet there. I am thankful for the area and the community that has help me become who I am today and taught me that Vegas is more then just a few casinos. Well I hope that sums up what I'm all about and what I love to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon and continue to be because I love the gospel. The gospel has given me happiness and hope. It has made me know though the gospel of Jesus Christ I can be forgive of the mistakes I have made in life. Because of this, I am very grateful for the blessings I have received in my life. I've also learn the blessings of the book of Mormon and how it always leads me in the right direction as I read it. It brought me so much guidance and direction. I also know it was translated my our first modern day prophet Joseph Smith who I believe to be a man of god. He truly did speak to god and his son, Jesus Christ. Because he is a man of god he has restored the gospel of Jesus Christ. Luckily we still have a prophet to lead us today and his name is Thomas S. Monson. I feel blessed that god has some one us to guide us though this tough times. I know that the church Guide me in a way that I can be with god again and have the joy of receiving that with my family. I know that though the gospel that I have the chance to have the most happiness I can have on earth if I follow the example of Jesus Christ in complete obedience. I know that I can do these things and as a missionary I want to spread this joy of Christ to others so that they can also have the same I happiness I enjoy. This is why I am a Mormon, why I will always strive to be that best I can everyday, and why I go along with so much confidence. Because I know the lord has paved a way for us to do so and I know that to be true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in my church's youth programs with things like Boy Scouts of America. though this I help the community though service projects. As a youth I help in the sacrament meeting by setting up and administering the sacrament. I also went and visited the elderly to make sure that they also could receive the sacrament also. In High school I attended seminary or a before school bible study. I'm also am a missionary and I give 2 years of my life dedicated to the spreading of the gospel of the church and helping the people of the community. I always helped my church community by giving them support though there problems. I feel blessed to be able to serve my community though the LDS church.
