Hi I'm Andrea

I grew up in Utah County, USA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the middle of three children with an older sister and a younger brother. One of my favorite things is to spend time with my family. We go biking, canoeing, hiking, sail-boating, walking, traveling and so much more together. I love to play tennis, volleyball and basically an sport when I am having fun with other people. I also love cooking, sewing, arts and crafts, photography, archery and many more things. I went to Brigham Young University. While there I was one of the New Student Orientation leaders who meet and help new students learn about campus. Currently I am serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tokyo, Japan mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Book of Mormon! I grew up in the church learning the Book of Mormon stories with my family. I have searched the scriptures and prayed for knowledge concerning the truth of this church. Through much personal revelation I have learned for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of God on the earth today. The spirit of God speaks to his children daily if they will just ask him. I know that God answers prayers and all his children are entitled to that blessing. I joyfully testify of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. It was written by the hands of the ancient prophets who testified of Christ. The Book of Mormon was preserved by the Lord for our day when it would be revealed. Joseph Smith the prophet was called of God to translate this wonderful book and restore God’s true church to the Earth this day. By the priesthood keys that were restored we have wonderful prophets and apostles that lead and guide us today. Most importantly we have the knowledge that the Book of Mormon another testament of Jesus Christ gives that Jesus is the Christ. That He lives today and showed himself to the Nephites, and through his death and atonement we can be washed clean to return to live with our Father in heaven again. Brothers and sisters I love the Book of Mormon and the wonderful message that it gives to us. It truly is the keystone of our religion. I testify of these things in the beloved name of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by how I dress and how I speak. I was a teacher for the women in my single adult ward and enjoy teaching the lesson once a month. I was also the information specialist for the women and I have organized the compiling of a cook book and try to keep track of the contact information of each woman. I love the church and take every opportunity to share its truth with those I meet. I currently am living my faith boldy as I go forth each day as a full time missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Each day I have the wonderful opportunity to share what I believe with everyone that I meet. I am a representitive of our savior Jesus Christ. Because of that I live everyday trying my best to live the way he did by loving and serving everyone I come in contact with. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I do my best to live it in everything that I say and do. It is a part of my daily life.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

We can come to know our Father in Heaven by doing a few simple things. He is literally our Father and he wants us to come to Him he has given many ways to know for yourself that he is your Father. The best way to know that He is your father is to pray and ask Him yourself. If you pray with sincere intent believing that you will recieve an answer I promise you that because He is your loving Heavenly Father he will answer you. Usually the answer comes through the peace and happiness that the Holy Ghost brings. The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead and he testifies of truth. He will tell you in your mind and your heart what is true (Doctrine and Covenants 8:2-3). Praying is not the only way to come to know your Father in Heaven. Your Father in Heaven loves you and each of his children so he has given us His holy word which can be found in the holy scriptures. These scriptures are the records of God's holy prophets who have recorded their experiences where they have come to know their Father better. If you read the scriptures and pray to your Father in Heaven you can know for yourself that what I have said is true. Our Father in Heaven loves all of his children equally and will not hold back truth from those that seek it out. As one of His prophets said I promise that if you do these things with sincere intent and ask in faith the truth will be manifest unto you (Moroni 10:4-5). I testify of these things in the name of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ amen. Show more Show less
