Hi I'm McKensie

I have lived in Utah my whole life. I love music, sports, spending time with my friends and family. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I just finished my freshman year of college and am getting ready to serve a mission. I love music, sports, spending time with my friends and family, and eating french fries and oreos. I am the oldest of 4 kids in my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to be a Mormon merely because my whole family was LDS and that's just how I grew up. As I got older however, I reached a point in my life where I needed to figure out for my self if everything the church taught was really true. I did what both the Bible and the Book of Mormon say to do: Ask God with real intent, and He will manifest the truth unto you. I sincerely prayed to know if this church was true and I felt in my heart that it was. I felt so good and was at peace. I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is indeed the only church with the fullness of Christ's gospel. I know that we have a prophet who leads and guides us today and that he receives revelation for us directly from God, just as I know Joseph Smith was called of God to be an instrument in restoring the fullness of Christ's gospel back upon the earth. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God and that that book is true. I cannot help but feel happy and at peace whenever I read it. I know that we can pray to our Father in Heaven anytime, anywhere and that He will ALWAYS answer us, though it's not always how we want Him to or when we want Him to. I know that God has a plan for all of us and that if we are striving to follow Him and obey His commandments and do His will, He will help and strengthen us and will help us to know what His will is. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ atoned for my sins because of his great love for me and every other person who has lived and will live upon the earth. I know that He was resurrected and that He lives. I know all of these things because I have earnestly prayed about them and I have felt in my heart that they are true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to my church meetings, attending institute, and striving to fulfill my church callings. I have been a family history instructor and a ward organist, and I try to go visiting teaching every month. In my personal life I try to study the scriptures daily and act on what I learn from reading them.
