Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in Alaska. I love to fish. I play hockey. Im a Mormon

About Me

I love being active. I am a University student. Currently I am serving in the Canada, Winnipeg Mission and I love the people here. I love playing sports, football and hockey are my favorites. Salmon fishing in Alaska is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. I would spend all my time on the rivers in the summer if I could.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel has benefited my life so much. I have seen how living the gospel and trying to come unto Christ as brought many blessings in my life. As I have been learning and growing over the years it is easier to see what a difference being a member of this church has made in my life. Being a Mormon helps give purpose to my life. I see the things that I need to do to come closer to Christ and be a good person in the process so I can be a help to others. Living the gospel has blessed my life in many ways.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith full time as a missionary for the church. I have seen many blessings from devoting my time to the Lord in serving him and the people I live near. Every day is a constant learning experience as I try to become a better person and reach out to others. I strive to be more Christ-like which is never easy, but it is something that is worth the effort. Serving in this church has been a great opportunity to allow myself to grow. Through service to God and His children I have come to see myself grow as a person. I try my best to live my faith through the little things as well like daily scripture study and praying to my Father in Heaven. Keeping the commandments of God is another way I can show my Heavenly Father that I love him. Keeping the commandments can be hard sometimes, but I have come to see that it is always worth it, and that the blessings do come. There are many aspects to living my faith, but I know that as I work to improve myself, I can become the person that God wants me to be.
