Hi I'm Jon Wixom

I'm a Utah boy. Reading is my hobby and writing is my dream. I'm a missionary in Carlsbad California. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always been an avid reader. My favorite kind of books are fantasy fiction or science fiction. I also like to write, and hope to one day publish my stories. Most of the stories I write are based on people with mystical powers in either our world, or in others. I am a huge fan of all things Disney, and still enjoy the old cartoon movies. I have graduated from both college and high school, and am thinking about focusing my studies in Psychology or in English. I also really like to play with technology, whether it be computer or console video games. I always like to discover what I can do with modern technology. I love all kinds of music, but mostly stuff from the 80s and 90s, and I play the alto and tenor saxaphone, clarinets of all kinds, and a little bit of guitar. I am a huge nerd when it comes to anything superhero or superpower related.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon. I was born into the Church, and have been raised my whole life in going to Church, and trying to always follow the commandments. Though I was born into the Church, it still took awhile for me to understand why I went to Church every Sunday, or scouts other times during the week. Then one day I realized that I did not go because I was told to anymore, I went because I really wanted to be there. I had realized that I love the Church and all its teachings. Once this change had come over me, I have always been really excited for my Sunday meetings. I know that the Church is true, and that it brings people more happiness than any other entity on Earth. I have seen the effect that joining the Church has had on people I know, and how it has affected them by causing them to almost glow because of their joy. This Church has been a monumental blessing in my life, and I am extremely grateful that I am a part of it. That is why I am a Mormon, and that is why I will always be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church in the California Carlsbad mission. I have been out for 9 months, and spend my time serving the people around me, trying to help members of my faith in their responsibilities in the Church when they need it, and trying to teach what I believe, meaning the message that the Church has, or the Gospel, to those around me. In essence, I am trying to live my life as Jesus Christ did, by serving and teaching those around me, and trying to help them come closer to our Heavenly Father.
