Hi I'm Yevi

I am a Russian. I am a Californian. I am a BYU student. I am a bass player. I am a beach bum. I am a missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Although I was born in Russia, I grew up in Orange County, California. I guess you can say I was raised on the beach. I like to think that I can surf, snowboard, and longboard, but don't put me to the test. I can't deny it, I do love being outside. Cats are great, but dogs are better. Ask me what my favorite anything is and I wouldn't be able tell you. I can say though that I will take a bag of Cuties over anything... or a big tin of peanut M&Ms. And yes, I have pet a cow or two before. I love attending BYU and studying Family Life Science, but know that putting it on hold for 18 months as I serve in the Washington Spokane mission is the Lord's will for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this is where I feel truly happy. I may not have been blessed to be born into an LDS family, but I have been blessed with amazing friends, church leaders, and missionaries who helped me get to where I am today. I have a different story, but I ended up in the same place. Heavenly Father knows each and every one of us personally and knows us well enough to guide us to the truth in a way that works for us individually. He has a plan for us. I know that we are His children, and He just wants us to come home to Him, to feel His love and comfort every day. Without the atoning sacrifice His son, Jesus Christ made, we would not have the promise of becoming perfect once more and returning to live with our Heavenly Father. I am grateful to have such a testimony of this gospel, of my Savior, of Joseph Smith, and of my Heavenly Father. I love being Mormon.

How I live my faith

Living by Gospel principles is an important aspect that I try my best to follow in my daily life. My family wasn't religious for a great period of my life until my Mom find her faith as a Jehovah's Witness. I am grateful for the influence she has been in my life because her example got me to where I am now. I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints April 23, 2011 with the help of my best friends and am the happiest I have ever been. I continue to live my faith by attending Sunday meetings weekly, acting on promptings (whether I know it or not), reading, pondering, and applying my scriptures in my life, and doing my best to walk with a prayer in my heart. I have been blessed to demonstrate my faith more fully as I have been traveling around Spokane Washington serving my Father in Heaven and brother Jesus Christ, sharing His unconditional love with all of those that I come in contact with. I can testify that living in line with the Holy Ghost will be the greatest blessing anyone can ever have as He guides you through every circumstance placed before you. My mission has changed my nature and has helped put me on a better, more consecrated path of discipleship. I will always do my best to be a representative of my Savior Jesus Christ.
