Hi I'm Sister Wood

I was born and raised in Utah, but I am serving a mission in Frankfurt Germany.

About Me

Right now I am currently serving a mission in Frankfurt Germany.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, like many others, I have prayed about it. I have had many experiences that have helped my faith grow. But my faith began through a prayer. I wanted to know if this church was true. I grew up in the church, yes, but I didn't know for myself if it was true or not. It sounded reasonable to me, but I didn't know in my heart. I prayed and asked God if this church was true. I didn't know instantly, I didn't know in a day or two, but in time i did know. The beautiful thing about the gospel and about God is that He gives us what is best for us. Some people when they have prayed and received an answer right away, but God knowing me, knew i needed my faith to be tried. I lived the principles of the gospel and through that I was able to see the happiness it brought me. Then one day I stopped and realized I knew it was true. I have had many witnesses of the truthfulness of the gospel throughout my life. There have been times I have been lost in a foreign country all on my own and I asked God for help and each time He has given me exactly what I asked for. I know that God lives.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I go to church, one of the callings I had while not on my mission was visiting teaching. I would visit women in my ward and see how they're doing and just visit with them. We believe in helping and taking care of one another, so we'd make sure to check up on others and see if they needed any help with house work or even just a friend to talk to. I've also visited with other women who were not members but wanted someone to come visit them. I love every opportunity I can get to make a new friend. The biggest part of living the gospel day to day is serving others, and improving ourselves. It is a joy and a privilege to serve each other. When we improve ourselves we are working on principles of character such as honesty, discipline, virtue, hard working and so on. We also improve ourselves through our talents. Everyone has something to learn and everyone has something to teach, so there are many ways to help and serve others through the things we have learned and the abilities we have.
