Hi I'm Anna

And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Most of my family are practicing Mormons, but I did not grow up in a typical Mormon home. Sometime while I was in middle school my parents got a divorce. Out of all my siblings, I felt the most affected to see my dad leave. It was a really hard time for me, and it sometimes still is. I know I was blessed to grow up in the church and near family members who offered support to me and my family. In high school, I followed the traditional trajectory of being active in the Young Women's Program and attending early morning seminary all four years. Afterwards, I got accepted to Brigham Young University. It wasn't until my first semester there that the teachings of the church and examples from other people began to change my life. It wasn't until then that I actually read the whole Book of Mormon. And throughout additional semesters, I began to realize how much my testimony was being strengthened so I could bless my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in the Mormon faith, it was my diligent study and practice that made me who I am today. I tried the experiment for myself and found that the teachings of the church are true. I progressed in baby steps, and I have received many blessings because of my belief and trust in an all knowing Heavenly Father. He continues to bless me as I choose to do it His way. I know that it is the right way because I have felt the Holy Ghost manifest the truth to me. I feel happier and eternally grateful to my Heavenly Father who has been there for me when no one else could. I know that my Heavenly Father lives and loves me without end. I also know that Christ is the Savior of the world and His Atoning sacrifice makes it possible for us to be cleansed from our sins and that we can live again. I know that this is Christ's true church, which has been restored since he was personally on the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ and was written for our day. I know that there are prophets and apostles on the earth today because our Father wants to bless His children so they can return to Him!

How I live my faith

I strive everyday to do what is right. I pray and read from the holy scriptures daily for guidance and safety. I attend my regular Sunday meetings and partake of the sacrament (bread and water) which represents my Savior's sacrifice for me. I love to be helpful, so I enjoy blessing others both with physical and spiritual needs. I have held many important church responsibilities, including volunteering to be a full time missionary. My mission has been the biggest blessing to me so far, because it has deepened my resolve to help teach and bring others to Jesus Christ and feel his infinite love. I am always striving to be an example of Jesus Christ. He knows the way, and if I follow Him, I know others can follow my example and be led to Jesus Christ.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

You have to try it. You have to have a small belief that it can make your life better. Faith is having hope in things that are unseen, but are true. You can pray and ask God if this something you need to learn more about and know if it is true. Be open and ready to receive an answer. Don't just ask and wait. Be active in searching out the truth. If you do this, the answers will be opened to you, and you will wonder why you didn't try it sooner. Show more Show less
