Hi I'm Marissa Scout

I am an aspiring actress. I am a tin lunch box collector. I am an avid scuba diver. I am an adventurer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second of four kids in my family and I just love them! I have lots of freckles and I am super quirky and my hair has never touched my shoulders. I have been lucky enough to travel the world with my family on dental humanitarian trips as well as touring with the BYU Young Ambassadors. I speak Spanish and French and I am working on my Latvian! I am a beach girl through and through; surfing, scuba diving, sand castle building, I love it all! I am a musical theatre junkie and I can't wait to move to New York after graduation.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I gained my own testimony when I was in the 9th grade. It was the first time I had read the Book of Mormon on my own, and after praying about it, I received my answer. I knew that it was a true book. I believe this Church is true, and I live it because it makes me happy. The Gospel is a happy pursuit. It is centered on our Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness, which is a universal plan for all of His children, yet it is individually tailored to each of us. Isn't that wonderful?! I feel so blessed to have the Gospel in my life. I love my family more than anything and I can't wait to be with them for forever! I want to make a difference in the world, and I intend to do that by spreading this beautiful message of joy and good news!

How I live my faith

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It shapes my life and gives me purpose. I believe in living a good life, a life that is centered on Jesus Christ and in line with His teachings. I try to do my best and treat others the way they deserve to be treated. Our church is all about reaching out to those in need and loving everyone as a child of God. I am grateful for the callings I have held in my various wards, and all of the leadership skills they have helped me to develop and service opportunities they offer me. I am especially looking forward to the opportunity to serve an 18 month mission in the Baltic States. When you love something, you want to share it! That's exactly what I hope to do on my mission trip to Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Belarus! I want to share what brings me happiness with the people there and everywhere.
