Hi I'm Ami

I am a teacher. I love Roller Derby. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 3, I have a brother and a sister. My dad is in the air force so we lived in a number of places around the UK. Sadly we were never posted somewhere abroad and sunny, but that's okay Cornwall and Scotland were both great too!. I have a degree in BioChemistry and currently teach science at a secondary school. I love to sing, love to read and love to bake. I have enjoyed rollerskating since I was a child and although I do not play as often as I would like, I adore roller derby.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, many of my family were members of the Church and it always has been an important part of my life. As a teenager, I had to decide for myself whether or not the Church was true. It took some time and some contemplation but mostly I knew that I was never as happy as when I was actively engaged and attending Church. When I was 15 I decided to read the Book of Mormon with the intent of deciding for myself whether it was true, it filled me with such great joy and gave me such inspiration. It confirmed all that I had been taught in my childhood. I am a Mormon, because when I am living Christ's gospel, I am my happiest. It has not and will not always be easy but I know it the right way to live my life. The Church brings me happiness, comfort and understanding. It gives me purpose and direction and has shaped me into the person that I am today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best me that I can every day. I know that I am not perfect and that I make mistakes but through repentance, I can continue to improve. I attend church every Sunday and help to teach lessons and organize activities for the youth of the church, they are such amazing examples and I have loved getting to know them. I go to a class once a week with other young adults, this is always a great spiritual and emotional boost to my week.
