Hi I'm Elder Benjamin Moore

I was an exchange student to Switzerland, I am a student at BYU, I am missionary in Novosibirsk Russia, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As the second youngest of eight kids, I enjoy spending time with my family. My nieces and nephews are the best. Being from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where it's frozen five months of the year I grew up with the snow and the cold and have been skiing since I was four years old. In the summer, It's all about cliff jumping and bon fires on the beaches of Lake Superior with family and friends. I spent my junior year of high school living in Switzerland as an exchange student. I learned German, lived the Swiss culture, skied the Alps. Came back to finnish high school and then it was off to BYU for a year before ending up here in the Russia Novosibirsk mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it is what I believe and have found to be true. The promises of the gospel of being able to be reunited with our family through the blessings of the temple have been the anchor of my faith. A plan as perfect as the Plan of Salvation can only have come from heaven. Having lost my mother to a car accident when I was four years old, I and six of my siblings were left to be raised by my father. Through his example and guidance, I have grown to love this church. Through the love from my father, personal studies, and my own personal commitment to live the way the Lord wants me to, I came to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's true and living church on the earth today. I couldn't be more thankful to my Heavenly Father for the up-bringing that I have had. For it to instill in me the seeds for faith that it did is a huge blessing to me. I know that our Heavenly Father is very aware of each and every person. By centering my faith in Jesus Christ, I have been able to rely on him when life gets hard, and give thanks when life is good.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best example to others that I can be. Since being on a mission, I've realized how many people see and are influenced by the example that I am setting. In the world today, there can never be too many positive examples for people to look up to. As a missionary, I live my faith every minute of every day. I wake up at 6:30 every morning to start studying so that I may better help people come unto Christ. Everything I do as a missionary revolves around helping to bring others unto Christ. Every day I become re-converted to this gospel by putting my trust in the Lord and doing my best in all that I do.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Elder Benjamin Moore
Coming to know our Heavenly Father doesn't happen overnight. It's a never ending project for someone to come to know him. To do this we have to use the tools that he has given us. The most personal method is prayer. Our Heavenly Father wants to hear from every one of his Children. He is just waiting to pour out blessings upon us and all we have to do is ask! We can come to know our Father by reading of his works and miracles in the Holy Scriptures. The Book of Mormon and the Bible have been given to us to help us find our way. Within these scriptures is the fulness of his everlasting gospel. In them we find commandments which, when we keep them, will bring us even closer to him and will allow the Holy Ghost to whitness to us that he lives. As we desire to know our heavenly father, pray to him often, study his scriptures and obey his commandments, we will draw closer to him. Show more Show less
