Hi I'm Breanne Davis

I live in Texas. I attend BYUI, majoring in nursing. I am serving a full-time mission in St. George, UT. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

All through my childhood and teenage years, I was a performer. I was a dancer, a singer, and an actress. The most magical feeling is being center stage, with a spotlight on your face while expressing emotions through song, dance, or words, making the audience melt into your story and make them feel what you feel. My dream job would be to work as a nurse in the emergency room. I love the adrenaline rush of being under pressure. I love the joy I feel when I am helping someone. I love solving the mystery of how to heal someone. I am so excited to make this dream become reality.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is Christ's restored gospel on the Earth. This church has everything I want in a church: a living prophet who gives us latter-day revelation, temples to perform everlasting ordinances in, the priesthood (which is the power of God, given to man to do God's work on the Earth), and organizations to make sure EVERYONE is taken care of. I love that we are set up to meet for Sunday services as geographically set groups, called wards. Each ward has only between 100 and 500 people in them with a bishop for every ward. This ensures that the church will be able to focus on the individual. The best part about this church is that everything is volunteer work. The bishops do not get paid to preach, the Sunday school teachers are just people who were asked to teach a class, and everyone willingly gives 10% of their income to the church to help those in need and to help build chapels and temples. No one is forced to do anything in this church. We follow the commandments because we want to, we pay tithing because we want to, and we give our time and talents to our callings in church because we want to. I choose to be an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it helps me become a more Christ-like person everyday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving others. I try everyday to treat people the way I imagine the Savior would. I find simple ways to serve people and make them smile.I love the peace and lasting happiness I feel when I serve. I attend church every Sunday. I try to learn something new by bringing a small notebook to church to write down thoughts or quotes that I hear. This helps me focus on the lesson being given instead of what I am going to eat when I get home. I live my faith by praying daily, studying the scriptures, and being an example of the pure love of Christ.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Breanne Davis
Everything we have in this life was given to us through the blessings of God. He owns every earthly possession. The least we could do is to give just 10% of it back to him through the church so it can be used to do what the Lord would have us do. For example: give money to struggling families, build churches and temples, help people pay for missions or schooling, or donate to humanitarian aid projects. These are the kind of things the Lord would do. Paying tithing every month helps you always remember that all you have is attributed to the Lord. Show more Show less
