Hi I'm Bethany Hoyle

I'm a nursery teaching assistant which I love, I live and grew up in Sheffield and I'm a Mormon... which I also love! :)

About Me

I love to sing, I come from a musical family and one of my favourite past times is standing round the piano singing with them. Whether that be hymns, music from Sally Deford or classic disney songs and musicals, I find if I'm ever bored I'll just start singing! I work with children for a living and love it. Children always make me happy, I have none of my own yet but I am so excited for the day that I become a mother. I also like to scrapbook and had so much fun doing my wedding album. One last thing about me.... I LOVE to laugh ha ha ha ha!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both members of the church before I was born, so since I can remember the church has always been a part of my life. I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we are known as Mormons. I am a Mormon because I want to centre Christ in my life. I pray daily and I know if I dont and I have a bad day it's because I haven't prayed to my Heavenly Father. When I was 18 I went to a youth convention called Especially For Youth (EFY). I didn't really learn anything I didn't already know but things were confirmed to me that I had been taught my whole life. I am a child of God, families can be together forever, they are eternal. I love this gospel and I know that by living it I can be happy and live with my Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I love to attend church every Sunday. At the moment I teach children aged 4-7 Sunday school and help to run activities for 8-12 year olds. In the past I have been in charge of the girls in our youth programme, young womens. I would help to plan weekly activities as well as teach them different lessons and values. I served in young womens for a long time, one of the things I would look forward to each year was the camp we would take the girls on along with girls from other towns and cities around us. It was always so much fun!!!

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Bethany Hoyle
It is important to treat our bodies "as a temple" it is a gift from God so that is why we dress modestly to show Him respect. On a Sunday I normally wear a dress or skirt that is below the knee and covers the shoulders. The rest of the week I usually wear trousers/pants but again with a modest top. As a mormon I celebrate Christmas and Easter which celebrates the birth, death and resurrection of Christ. I also LOVE to celebrate mine and others birthdays!! Show more Show less
