Hi I'm Julie

I am a student, music lover, and traveler. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying political science and anthropology. I have traveled to 19 countries and plan to see more! I love to play basketball, but could be found participating in just about any sport. I am a child to two loving parents and have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. I love arts and crafts and discovering new recipes for cooking and baking. I am fascinated with culture and outer-space. I love watching movies, jamming out to music, and from living in New Zealand for the past few years have adopted the island life style of keepin' life simple and chill. Though, now being a full time missionary, all my time and energy goes to teaching the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents have been and currently are active members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Because of this, I have always been raised under the influence and values of the church. Though, with my strong interest in culture and travel, I have studied and witnessed many different cultures and beliefs which have kept me with an open mind when it came to religion and differing lifestyles than my own. Even with my open mind, I have always loved and found true happiness and peace in being an active member of my church, and have never felt the desire to join another. Other religions fascinate me, yes, but the church I am member of is truly special. It just feels so right, like there are no missing puzzles pieces. It makes me feel whole. I am a mormon because I choose to be. I know that the LDS church is the true church that is on the earth.

How I live my faith

Being a full time missionary in the MTC, I now live my faith now very differently than before. I have devoted the next 18 months of my life completely to God to teach the people in my assigned mission about Jesus Christ and the beliefs that have brought me so much happiness in my life. I used to live my faith by small and simple things like praying and aspiring to be a help and friend to others, I now spend every moment trying to come nearer to God as I seek to strengthen my testimony of the Book of Mormon and as I am preparing and learning how to teach the fundamentals of the Gospel. I live my faith now by striving more than I ever have in my life to be more like Christ, while relying on the Lord to give me strength and comfort during these next months of my life away from my family and friends, and to learn a difficult new language.
