Hi I'm Janine

I am a mother of two, a grandma, and am happily married to my best friend. I am a life long member of the Church. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have two children. A boy and a girl. Both are now married so my husband and I are empty-nesters. I work for the church in the education system, Seminaries and Institutes. Something I have been doing for a number of years now. It's very rewarding. I enjoy riding horses and my bike, gardening, reading, painting and my newest fun sport...playing Pickle-ball! My most favorite thing to do is spend time with my family! BBQ's in the backyard, camping, or just watching a movie together... I love hanging out with our children and their spouses! Our children have chosen well and we are blessed as a family. It seems that marriage to my husband grows sweeter with each passing year. After more than 30 yrs together, I can truly say, he is the love of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

My family have been members of the Church for generations. I have ancestors who knew the prophet Joseph Smith personally. Their example and faith have been a blessing and have strengthened my testimony throughout my life. I was 17 years old when I was truly converted to the gospel. It was in the afternoon. I was laying on the floor in my room while the sun shone in through the window. It was warm on my back. I was reading the Book Of Mormon. Particularly 3 Nephi, the eleventh chapter. I remember receiving an overwhelming feeling of peace and joy fill my chest and swell in my heart that what I was reading was true. It overtook my emotions and confirmed to me that everything I had been taught, that every priesthood blessing, every week that I attending Church meetings, and every time I kneeled in prayer...everything, was true and that God knew me! That my Heavenly Father was aware of me personally and wanted me to know it. I will never forget that day. It will burn in my heart forever. I witness that this is true and that this is God's Church. I am forever grateful to be a member.

How I live my faith

I have been a member all my life. I have had various opportunities to serve in our local congregation. I find that by serving others I am able to more fully live as my savior Jesus Christ would want me to live. I have helped lead music during our worship services, taught the younger children in Sunday classes as well as the youth. I am currently the President of our woman's organization that serve the families of not only our congregation, but also our community in what ever needs arise. I feel great humility to be associated with such selfless women who give of their time and resources to meet the needs of others.
