Hi I'm Ryan Rupnick

I'm a Mormon convert since 2009.

About Me

There's too many things that I like to do. Archery, camping, canoeing, chess, and so many more things! But what I like most is being in nature, it helps me feel the Spirit more in my life and appreciate the majesty and power of God by being surrounded by His creations. Nature helps me know that God does exist and that I'm one of His special creations.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined this church because it makes sense. I've received an answer that this is the true church of God. It wasn't the way I thought it would be answered in but I received my answer nonetheless. I didn't always believe in God but the Book of Mormon has brought me to the truth of that. I know now that He does exist and that He loves me just as much as those who have complete faith in Him. Life is hard, not the gospel. It helps guide me in my life on what I should do. I've never been happier than being a member of this church!

How I live my faith

There's too many ways to even begin. Down to the core of things, I try my best to live what Christ taught and even though I don't always succeed at it I know that I can keep improving and do a little better the next time. There's no better way to have faith than to apply it!

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Ryan Rupnick
Because of the many translations that the Bible has experienced, there are some parts that have been mistranslated. We do believe that the Bible is the word of God but that only goes as far as the Bible has been translated correctly, which is still a great portion of its word. It is holy to us and so is the Book of Mormon. We regard both as being the word of God and when you read both they really do complement each other. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Ryan Rupnick
Yes, we have the Bible but there are so many churches that have it and each one tends to make its own outlook on its teachings. That's why we needed a restoration, to bring back a straight path towards God and not many paths that can lead nowhere. Now, I'm not saying that any other churches are giving false doctrine but if you have the Spirit it will tell you of the truthfulness of what they say and what's right. Think of having one dot, you can make many different straight lines through that one dot. If you had two dots, how many straight lines can you make through it? One. The one dot is the Bible and the second dot it the Book of Mormon. Only through both can we come back to our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Ryan Rupnick
There's many things that tell you that there is a God. How the planets continue to go in the same path as they always have, how Earth is at just the perfect spot so we can have water, ice, atmosphere, land, and folliage. All we have to do is just look around and just marvel at what is before us! Show more Show less

What is faith?

Ryan Rupnick
Faith is a hard thing to describe at times but for me it is the feeling of knowing that there's a higher power that knows and loves you better than you could for yourself. It is hoping that when you die that your spirit will be taken care of and put in its proper place. Faith is to have a hope and trust in a higher power than yourself and be willing to do what he (meaning God) wants for you to do. Faith does not always come easy but if you desire to have faith, that's the first step that you can take and just work from there. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Ryan Rupnick
The biggest thing is prayer. You cannot establish a connection between yourself and God without prayer. But for prayer, you must have even a sliver of faith and the way that you can create faith in Him is by reading scripture and by reading and hearing the testimonies of many people that have of Him. The beginning of your quest in knowing God is to have the desire to know Him. And a great way to start that is by recognizing that He is your Father. You may not be able to see Him right now but He is there and wants to hear from you no matter what you've done in your life. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Ryan Rupnick
Joseph Smith was the first modern-day prophet and he translated the golden plate obtained by an angel named Moroni which was the Book of Mormon. He founded the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it is because of the faith that he had in God and the desire to do His will that he was able to translate such records and establish Christ's church and gospel on this earth once more.
