Hi I'm Sara

I grew up in Utah. I am really into horses. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. Most of my years were spent in Park City, then we moved to Eagle Mt. I graduated from high school there. Then my dad got a new job in Texas. I was always into horses and dancing/singing. Since I was young I was in a performing group. We would sing and dance and perform all over. We would start out in some areas in Utah. Then during the summer, the older kids got to go somewhere else. I have been to California, Chicago, and New York. I also did 4-H with my horse from a young age. My horse is my best friend and I honestly don't know how I would have survived without her with me through all of our moves. After staying with my parents in Texas I moved back to Utah to go to school and recently received my Associates degree. I now plan to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church. My families have been members since pioneers times, basically since the church started. So in my family it is almost expected to be a member, and I thought that that's why I was a member. It took me a while to really know who I was and to come to know the truth of this gospel. I got into some things in high school and at the beginning of college that I am not very proud of. When I realized that I wasn't happy and needed to change my life, I knew what I had to do. I had to start talking to my bishop and start mentally going to church, not just physically. While I was doing what I needed to do and coming back to Christ, I received many blessings. I gained a relationship with my Savior and knowing and feeling His love for me. I now have such an understanding of the atonement and what the Savior has done for me, what He has done for all of us. He atoned for our sins, He has felt all of our pays and joys, He knows all of what we know and feel. He knows exactly how I felt when I was feeling my worst, and he has payed the price for my wrong doings, I just needed, and continually need to go to him and drop my burdens at his feet and allow him to help me. He has already paid the price, so why let that payment go in vain. This church is the restored church of Jesus Christ, it teaches the truth. It is the most wonderful thing in my life and I honestly don't know what I would do without it. I am so grateful to be a part of this church and want to share my happiness with all that I come across. I love my Savior and know He is always there for me. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live in a little town in Texas, we have a small congregation in our church building, so we call our group a branch because we are not yet big enough to be a ward. In my branch I have been working with the young children. I teach the kids who are 4-11 years old. We teach the children the things that we all learn in church, but in more simple terms. It has been so much fun to work will all of them. They all get into the activities that with do and it still amazes me at how much the children teach me about the gospel. It has really been a great privilege.
