Hi I'm Sarah

I'm from California. I am serving in the South Dakota Rapid City Mission. I love having fun in everything that I do, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently a missionary serving in the South Dakota, Rapid City mission. I am so completely honored for this opportunity to be serving this full time mission for the Lord. The miracles that I have witnessed on my mission are simply life-changing, and I am grateful for every minute of this experience. Before I began my mission, I attended college at Brigham Young University in Utah and had just completed my 3rd year in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Bio-mechanics. I love to swim, play basketball, and run. My religion, family, and friends are everything to me. I devote a lot of time to them and they are things that I hold very precious in my life. I love my mission, and I cherish the memories and growth that I am experiencing here.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know of this religion's truth, divinity, and happiness. This religion helps me to realize my "full potential and magnificent future." It provides me with the knowledge of my loving Savior and Father in Heaven as well as the blessings that I have been given. I have seen what this religion can do for me and those that I love in my life. One of the doctrines that I hold most cherished is the doctrine of eternal families. Forever-ness with my family is achievable and having that covenant, or promise, with my family brings me an immense amount of joy. Another aspect of truth in this religion is a modern day prophet that guides and directs us in these days. This prophet turns us towards God and always keeps us looking up. We must follow President Thomas S. Monson, the prophet, seer, and revelator of this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to stand as a witness of my Savior, Jesus Christ, at all times, in all things, and in all places. That means that I try to be as Christlike as possible. Two of my favorite scriptures are 1 Timothy 4:12 "be thou an example of the believers" and Matthew 5:16 "let your light so shine." These two scriptures act as inspiration for how I try to live my life. I want people to know that I am a Latter-Day Saint and that it means so much to me. Being a Latter-Day Saint affects me daily in everything that I do. I also want to build trust and friendships with people that they feel comfortable in asking anything about what I believe. Some of the service activities that I have done with my church include cleaning the local cemetery, church building, park, and schools. I have also helped serve at salvation army dinners and provided meals for the sick and afflicted. One of my favorite things that I have done is visited a retirement home to visit with the senior citizens. I am grateful for the opportunities that I have been provided with and cannot wait for the opportunities to come!
