Hi I'm Amy

I am a college student, wife, and runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying exercise science and I truly do love to learn! I love to do anything outdoors and active like running, hiking, boating, star gazing, basketball, or watching a pretty sunset. When I was younger I had a dream to run in the Olympics. I am not that high caliber of a runner but it is still one of my passions in life! There is something exhilarating about pushing yourself to reach a goal and then actually doing it. Family is my favorite thing about life. I am married to a wonderful man who is my best friend. To be able to work through problems with, laugh with, cry with, and have adventures with your eternal companion is the most rewarding thing I have ever done.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel is my rock. The first principle of the gospel is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. That faith, that motivation and hope in the future is what has carried me through the darkest days, as well as the happiest. It is what helps me to change and to set goals to become more like Christ. I know that God is there and listening when I cry out to him. I have felt his love and direction as I have talked to him about my life: the successes, exciting things, disappointments and sorrows. He does love an watch over his children. Living the gospel simply brings me joy! Heavenly Father wants his children to be happy- he doesn't want to cripple us. That is why God gives commandments and rules to follow. He knows that doing those things will make us happy. The times in my life when I have been the happiest are the times that I have been living the most like Christ. The joy I get from the gospel also comes from the ablility it gives me to change- to repent. How grateful I am for my savior Jesus Christ and his atonement that allows me to be forgiven of my mistakes and gives me strength to do better than I could on my own. The gospel is a happy thing :)

How I live my faith

I think it is so important to have the companionship of the spirit in everyday life. The spirit gives me such a feeling of peace and joy- a feeling that I cannot get from anything else. Reading my scriptures, praying, and serving others all bring the spirit into my day and so that is what I strive to do. I think that if I truly love Christ, I will share what I know about him and his atonement with others. I think that showing others the joy the gospel brings me will open doors for me to share what I know and bring that same peace and joy into their lives. It's all about love!
