Hi I'm Bergen Haynes

I am from Utah. I am very involved in the horse world. I will be serving a mission in Spokane Washington. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I will be serving a mission to Spokane Washington this year! I recently finished my first year of college and and served on the Student Government on the college’s Student Senate, My passion is working and training horses, they are a major part of my life and I spend hours at the barn working and riding horses. I bought my own horse Roxy, when I was 12, and have been competing and racing on her ever since. I compete in Rodeo events involving Barrel Racing and Pole Bending, as well as show events involving Equitation, Halter, and Pleasure. Roxy and I were able to compete in 4H, and this last year we won Overall Grand Champion in the Salt Lake County, Overall Grand Champion in a region competition involving Toole County, Salt Lake County, and Utah County, and had the opportunity to place in the top ten at the 4H State Horse Show. I want to have a career in horses, I will be majoring in Equine Science and Management, so that I can run my own horse training facility, and hope to one day start a riding program for abused children to learn how to ride and work with horses. I ran Track and Cross Country in high school, and had the opportunity to be the girls Team Captain, and was able to compete in Utah State Cross Country meet all three years. One of my favorite things to do is collect quotes. I had the opportunity to take what is called a StrengthsQuest test in college, which shows you your top 5 strengths; mine include Harmony, Includer, Positivity, Consistency, and Developer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I fully believe the Book of Mormon, and have a strong testimony that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and was given complete inspiration from God in translating the Book of Mormon. This book is the keystone of our religion, and I am a Mormon, because I understand the power and truth that comes from reading this book. It has changed my life, and each day I read it, it continues to do so. I love this gospel, because in the end, if we do everything we are asked to do, we can live with those we love most forever. I am a Mormon, because in understanding this, I will do everything it takes to be with my family and friends, and I know that being an honest Mormon, I will be able to do so. I have the strongest testimony of this gospel and all the inspired leaders who guide us each day.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is by each day being an example to those around me, and a positive influence. I am a very optimistic person, and I feel that this really helps me stay in-tune with the spirit. I will be serving an LDS Mission to Spokane, Washington, and I feel that in preparing to teach the people of Spokane is a major way I am living my faith. I read the Book of Mormon each day so that I may receive any inspiration from the Holy Spirit, and read of my Saviors love for me. I live my faith each day, by understanding and realizing how my The Lord loves and cares about every little thing that I do.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?
