Hi I'm Cami

I'm twenty years old. I love to create. I love to laugh. And I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family of all girls. I am a very happy person. I love to laugh and can find any reason to do so. As it says, I love to create. My dream is to become a professional author in fantasy-fiction so I love making plot-lines. I also like to write little allegories about life and the things we can learn from the small, sometimes over-looked moments of it. I like to exercise and I've found that taking care of my body is a good way to appreciate the many gifts that God has given me. I love music and I believe that it applies to anything and everything in life. I also love people. I am a firm believer in the idea that we are sent here together to help one another because doing that brings me the most joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that it is truth. Even though I grew up in the church, I, too had to have a conversion story. My story involves trial and testing the things that I had been taught in my life up to that point. There was a time in my teenage years where many things in my world were falling apart and it seemed like I didn't have anywhere else to turn. I had been taught all my life to turn to the Savior when that happened so I took a leap of faith and I tried it. Once I did, I discovered that everything I had been taught was truth. I have prayed multiple times to know if the Book of Mormon is true and every time I have gotten the same answer. And the truths found in there can always be applied. I am also a mormon because it brings me more happiness than I could ever have otherwise. The gospel is the one true way to make it back to our Heavenly Father and He provides us with so many blessings along the way if we just turn to Him. I love being happy and it's because of the knowledge and testimony that I have, that I am able to find happiness in every season.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything that I do. When I was going to the Single's Ward before my mission, I was in callings that involved music. I thought that was cool because for me, the best way to share my beliefs is through a beautiful melody. I led the music for the congregation for a while and then I played the piano for the choir. I also live my faith by being an example to others. Jesus Christ was accepting and loving of all of us so I think we should all be the same way. I love to be around people and so I try to show them the love of Christ while I am with them. I also like to share my testimony every opportunity that I get. Also, I think daily scripture study and prayer are so important to being a member of this church. I read my scriptures every day and try and think of how I can apply what I read to my life at that time. It has helped my testimony grow so much and it helps me rely on my Savior in every season.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormon missionaries proselyte because they have something very special that they want to share with the whole world. There was a period of time on this earth where we didn't have Christ's true church anywhere. In fact, it lasted for many centuries. And because of that period of time, there are many people who still don't have the full truth. We meet them every day. So missionaries want to spread that full truth to everyone. They want to bring the good news to every door so that all of God's children can experience the happiness that they do. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

My answer to this question would be that God knows a lot more about our bodies than we do. He created them and He wants us to make the most of them. Our bodies are a gift from Him and there are certain substances He asks us not to put into them. Some of us may not be addicted to those things, but He has told us that this commandment is "for the weakest of the saints." If you have a question about how this applies to you, I would suggest praying about it to find out the answer for yourself. God is always willing to unfold mysteries to us if we are willing to keep His commandments. Show more Show less

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

This church is the church of Jesus Christ in these, the latter days. In the Book of Mormon, He, Himself, taught that any church with His name and that contains His doctrine is His church (3 Nephi 27). Mormons believe in the same teachings that Jesus Christ taught when He was on the earth. We believe that His teachings never cease and that there is always more for us to learn. Mormons believe in the Book of Mormon, which is where the nickname "Mormon" came from. It's another testament of Jesus Christ. We also believe in the Bible. We also believe that God continues to reveal things to us today through a modern-day prophet, who has Jesus Christ's authority to spread His gospel. We believe that because of that authority, families can be together forever with Jesus Christ and God, the Eternal Father. This is the very reason of why we share our beliefs with others. Because we want them to feel the same joy that we have found in this message. Show more Show less
