Hi I'm Jake

I'm from Salt Lake City. I attended BYU, I volunteer at the zoo, and I'm a mormon

About Me

Hi, I am an 19 year old kid from Salt Lake I enjoy running, volunteering at the zoo, anything with animals, and martial arts. I have a 3rd degree blackbelt in Haidong Gumdo and Tae Kwon Do. I really enjoy it. I love people. I love talking to people, meeting new people, and listening to their background stories. I also love basketball. I play in rec leagues and churchball. I am serving a mission right now in Baltimore, Maryland.

Why I am a Mormon

I was actually born into this church. I love it and I know it to be true. This doesn't mean that I am not a convert. I had to make sure I really believed it before I chose to live it. I prayed, read my scriptures, and did the stuff that I was supposed to do. But everything changed for me on a single day. I was kind of depressed, I didn't feel like I was wanted or loved. It was at this time in my life that I chose to pray. I prayed to God simply to have someone to talk to. This is where I finally got a testimony and a knowledge that something was out there and that He loved me. It was such a great feeling. I felt His love, care, compassion, and desire to help me all when I prayed. It was amazing. This is what really kept me going when times were hard. And is why I am a member of this church and I believe it today.

How I live my faith

I was a teacher in my elders quorum. But mostly I just live my faith by living my faith. I keep the commandments, read my scriptures, and say my prayers. I try and do what Jesus has asked me to do. I think there is no better way to show your faith than by living it.
