Hi I'm Peter Oaks

I love to sing. I love to play sports. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love sports of every kind, I love food of ALMOST every kind, and I love reading and not so much writing. I am an Eagle Scout. I am just finished spending 2 years serving an LDS mission in Orlando, FL.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon, and raised by my wonderful parents who taught me the gospel and helped me to understand how the gospel helps us unlock happiness. I was Baptized and Confirmed when I was 8 years old. I was active all my life... but when I was in middle school and High School, I started to wonder about things that my brain wanted answers to. I questioned and doubted and was unsatisfied because of the answers that I wasn't recieving. Then I decided that I couldn't expect to know everything until I did the things that were asked of me. Such as faithful prayers, and instead of just giving the Lord my time, I gave him my heart, and He worked within me. He answered my questions, and everything made sense. I was illuminated by the light of the Gospel and I then knew that This was God's restored Church on the earth. For the benefit and blessing of His children. I understand now that God loves us, that He has a plan for us, and that we can live with Him and His Son Jesus Christ again. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in a lot of ways... First I love people around me and try to serve them in what ever capacity that I know how. I also attend all of my Sunday meetings and participate in them. I study the scriptures daily and pray to know the truth which is in them and understand them... and the Spirit testifies to my soul that the words that I am reading are true. I live my faith by sharing the things that I know have made me happy. I know that they can make everyone happy if they will just listen and remember how they felt. Christ loves us and wants us to come home to him. I live my Faith by actually LIVING the things that I am taught, not just hearing the words. He died for us and so, we must LIVE for Him.
