Hi I'm Isaac Thatcher

I'm a passionate soccer fan who loves the outdoors, snowboarding, and ultimate (frisbee). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy being in the outdoors, there's an incredible beauty and peace about the mountains that makes it feel like home. Although I enjoy photography, I take few pictures in most environments, because I prefer to experience my surroundings rather than try to capture them. Music makes me happy, there are so many messages shared through song, and many ways to interpret most songs. It's cool to listen to a song from five or ten years ago and think about how I thought of it then compared to what it means to me now.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this gospel, but didn't gain a knowledge of its truth for myself until I was 19 years old. That was when I first decided that I needed to kneel and ask God if The Book of Mormon is true. After my prayer and reading from The Book of Mormon, I was listening to a talk that mentioned an evidence of it's truth, and I felt a calm and peace as the spirit of God came to me and told me this was the true gospel. I decided that I would ask again, because I wanted to know without doubt that I was following the path I should be following. I decided I would go to the mountains and find a quiet, peaceful place where I could pray and ask again if this was the true church. As I knelt in prayer, and spoke to my Father in Heaven, the spirit came to me and I felt him whisper to me: "You already know that this is true, you don't need to ask again." As this phrase came to my mind, I was completely covered by the most amazing feeling I had ever felt in my life, and I knew that this was the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Currently, I'm serving a full-time volunteer mission in Malaysia and Singapore sharing the gospel of Christ with others. I have served as a leader for young men in my area in the scouting program, which I feel has done more for me than I could ever give back to it.
