Hi I'm Adrienne Whitlock

I grew up in Los Altos, California. I go to BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of 4 kids. I played volleyball and soccer in high school and I loved being in musicals. Now, I go to BYU, following my 3 older siblings and brother-in-law. I don't know what I want to major in or what the future holds, but I do know that I want to get married and be a mom. My family lives across the country, so I love when all 7 of us can be in the same place. I have lots of cousins and aunts and uncles, and we love getting together, too. My favorite color is yellow and I love all bright colors. I really like ice cream and cup cakes, but my favorite food is pop corn. I love going on adventures and doing fun things.

Why I am a Mormon

When I think about the things that make me happy in life, I realize that they all stem back to being a Mormon. First, my family makes me so happy. Through the teachings of the Gospel, I know that death is not the end of my family. We will be able to see each other again and live together forever in Heaven if we live right. I know that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me and created me. That gives me a type of confidence that nothing else could. We are all sons and daughters of God and he knows each of us personally. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know it's true. I know that we have a Prophet who can lead and guide us and I love knowing that Heavenly Father can send us directions through him. The gospel also gives me good perspective. We all face so many challenges in this life, but I know that as huge as they seem now, in heaven I’ll realize that the hard times were just such a short period of time and that challenges make me stronger. It makes me happy to know that I have an older brother, Jesus Christ, who atoned for my sins. I make so many mistakes, but I know that through Him, I can be forgiven for them and constantly improve and become better. Jesus Christ is the one person who can always understand the problems I’m facing and the things I’m going through, because he has also gone through them when he atoned for us. I am happy because I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

In high school, I was really active with the youth in the church. I've always been really open to answering people's questions, and I actually really like when people ask me questions about the Church. Going to college, I had to become more independent in living my faith. I didn't have parents telling me to go to church or to activities, but going to church was always something I looked forward to at school. I got to know so many people in my ward through visiting the other girls and planning activities for groups of us on Monday nights. I'm leaving for Yekaterinburg, Russia for the next year and a half to serve a mission and share this gospel that I love so much. I hope to be able to live my faith by sharing my beliefs and being a good example of the Mormon church for the rest of my life.
