Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in the United States. I'm leaving soon for a mission in the Dominican Republic and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a junior in college and am studying International Studies. I love learning and traveling around the world to learn about culture and people. Last year I came back from teaching children English in Ukraine. I am now in The Dominican Republic on my mission and will be here for the next year and a half!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not Mormon simply because my Mom or Dad is Mormon or because I have grown up in the LDS church. I am Mormon because I KNOW IT IS TRUE. By true, I mean I feel the Holy Ghost witness of the truthfulness to the principles that are taught in church, to the men that hold the priesthood and carry out their callings in the wards, and to the Book of Mormon. The LDS church testifies of Jesus Christ completely. It is true and it brings joy to my life.

How I live my faith

Religion is not just a Sunday occasion. Being LDS has shaped my life. My faith IS my life and I love it! One way I live as well as build my faith is by teaching a Sunday school class. I teach currently at my local singles branch. Each Sunday I give an hour long lesson on different aspects in the Gospel; whether it be on bearing testimony, having faith, or sustaining our prophet and church leaders. When I plan my lessons it reminds me of how I can rededicate myself in certain aspects in my faith.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Rachel
The Law of Chastity is something that is meant to help people be clean in their actions and thoughts. Each person's virtue is sacred and the Law of Chastity enables us to do that. Show more Show less
