Hi I'm Tash Vin Zant

I was born and raised in Alaska. I love animals, science, art, and the great outdoors. I am a Mormon!

About Me

The first thing anyone needs to know about me is I have a deep passion for life and loving those around me. Some of my life goals are to graduate from college, raise an eternal family, join the peace corps, and become a gospel scholar. I love laughter and seeing joy on peoples faces, it makes me happy sharing in others' happiness. Aside that, I love school! Especially biology and the arts. Having been raised in Alaska I have a deep love for nature and all of Gods creatures. If I could I would live in a cottage out in the forest or on a boat with nothing but the deep blue all around me. But, of course, some of my goals would be compromised if that became a reality. Its a lovely dream though. Some things I enjoy doing in my spare time are reading, walking, hiking, exploring, baking, spending time with friends and family, learning, and listening to jovial music. Currently in life I am working in a care center to raise enough money to serve a mission. I went to a semester of college before I dropped out to work for this recently acquired dream. And what an adventure its been!

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that with every fiber of my being. However, I don't have one big, life changing moment that I can pinpoint where I switched from passively existing to knowing with all my heart and soul that our Savior, Jesus Christ, atoned for my sins and the sins of the world, making it possible for me to repent and return with my family to live with Him again; that Joseph Smith was and is a true prophet of God and that he restored the fullness of the gospel to the earth and that we are still lead by a prophet of God today; that obedience to our Father in Heaven by living His gospel is the only way to return to our loving, kind, merciful, and just God; that He knows me personally, as I am His daughter, the daughter of a king, and that He will always love me no matter how far I might wander. I testify of these things and I know that if I follow them, then I will be saved in the kingdom of God and I will know true joy. My testimony comes from small moments and experiences where the Holy Ghost has witnessed to me truth of the gospel and these moments and experiences have built on each other. I keep a journal of these personal witnesses so that I can always remember and I look back on them often and with gratitude that I could be fortunate enough to know that my Savior lives.

How I live my faith

I love church. For a while I wasn't able to participate in all three hours of church or any of the activities during the week. It broke my heart, but I stuck it out until I was able to get a better position at work that would allow me to have more time. I got a calling on the activities counsel and am now a group leader for a summer scripture study program. Its amazing and I love the people I get to be with and learn with as a result. As far as living my faith outside of church or church functions, I willingly share the gospel and why I am the way I am with anyone who has questions. Its liberating to share something I am so passionate about and that is so dear to my heart. Living the gospel is more that just doing certain things or not doing certain things; its in every action, thought, and breath and that is the way I try to live this gospel. Anyone who is my friend or knows me at all knows that I am a Mormon and that I love it.
