About Me

Hi, I'm Mattie Butler. I am from Idaho Falls, Idaho. I love being active. I love being around people who love me. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was a cheerleader for 5 years. I'm a full time student at BYU-Idaho and I love it. (best school ever) I have the best family in the world. I have two older sisters and a little brother. My parents are the best parents out there. I think I can be pretty funny. :) I love having a great time and I'm always up for challenges.

Why I am a Mormon

Well... First off why not be a Mormon? I have seen so many miracles in my life that have shown me the importance of this church! I am a Mormon because I have had trials in my life that have led me to know that this church is true. I was born into this church so when I was about 14 I had my doubts about this church. I had to pray about it to know that this church is true. When I was a junior in High School, I had many different types of trails. After awhile of living this lifestyle it made me realize that this was not the life I wanted to live. I had to have faith in the Lord that I would get through this hard trial. Knowing that the Lord is by my side and will be my whole life time gave me the strength to know that I could come out victorious. After going through the repentance process I knew that this church was true and that I love being a Mormon. I have so much faith in our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ. I know without a doubt in my heart that this church is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith saw our Father and His only Begotten Son. Because I am a Mormon, I have had so much more happiness in my life. I know that I can turn to our Father whenever. He wants to hear from me. My relationship with our Heavenly Father is the strongest relationship I need on this earth. From being Mormon, I know that I can live with my family for eternity! Who wouldn't want that?! :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the simple things the church teaches us. I live my faith by just reading my scriptures, fulfilling church callings, talking to my Heavenly Father, going to church every Sunday and by putting trust in Him as he directs my course of life. By living my faith I have decided to go serve an 18 month mission to the Illinois Chicago mission. I know that this won't be easy, but I know it will become the most satisfying, exciting, spiritual, exhausting, most wonderful thing I will ever go through. I know that my faith is not perfect right now, but it will grow so much serving the Lord. These blessings I am beyond grateful for as I feel the Spirit in my heart every second of everyday. He has blessed me with an amazing family, a wonderful school to receive an education, the most lovely friends out there, sharing the gospel is on of the best ways I can show my faith. By showing others what I believe in and showing them that I am living by faith, it will bless people around me.
