Hi I'm Susan

I grew up on a farm in Idaho. I am a student. I have a service dog. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have four brothers and one sister. I have two nieces and one nephew. My parents own a farm and I grew up taking care of various animals. In high school I was a cheerleader and also threw shot put and discus. I went to BYU in Provo for two years and then transferred to BYU-Idaho in Rexburg. I am studying Political Science with an emphasis in American Government. After graduation I plan on moving to Washington, D.C. I want to go into politics and hopefully one day be a Senator...and who knows, maybe I'll be President one day. :] I have a service dog, Rogue, who helps me with various medical conditions that I have. I have had a lot of trials in my life and Rogue is definitely an answer to prayers.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church but have not always believed it to be true. When I was 16 I gained my testimony of the First Vision. In our youth group we had to teach the lesson of the First Vision to one of our leaders. As I told the account of the First Vision I felt the Lord's Spirit so strong and I realized that what I was saying was true. When I was a senior in high school I began searching into what colleges I wanted to go to. BYU in Provo was one of my top choices. At first BYU was simply a choice because I could afford it and it had my major...not because of the Spiritual aspect. However, as I got closer to graduation I realized that I really did want my testimony of this Church to grow so I needed to go there. I had many struggles at BYU with roommates, classes, and medical issues but I do not regret attending BYU. While I was at BYU I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar disorder, an anxiety disorder, and PTSD. When I was first diagnosed I became bitter towards the Lord. I couldn't understand why I had to go through this trial and why my Heavenly Father would do this to me. My parents and siblings were very supportive of me and helped me realize that I needed to turn to the Lord instead of away from Him. Through this trial I know how much He loves me. He does not give us any challenge that we cannot overcome. I know that at times it seems like we cannot make it but He is always there for us and He knows that we can. I know that this Church is true. It took me a long to time to get to this point but it was worth it. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he did indeed see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the grove. I know that President Monson is God's prophet on the earth today and that the counsel he gives us comes directly from the Lord. I know that the Priesthood can heal and bless and that it is truly God's power on this earth. I know Heavenly Father loves me and all of His children.

How I live my faith

I love participating in every activity my ward has. I have participated in several talent shows and have performed at various Church meetings. In the past I have held different callings in the Church working with family history and planning activities.
