Hi I'm Courtney

I'm from Virginia. I am serving as a missionary in Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my freshman year of college at Brigham Young University. I am serving a mission in Brazil. I am so excited to serve the Lord. I enjoy dancing and I have been taking dance classes since I was three years old. My favorite form of dance is ballet but I do all styles. I danced in the ballet company at BYU and I loved it. I have a mom, dad, four older brothers, two sister in-laws, and two nieces. My oldest brother has autism and he is the sweetest person I know. I am from Virginia and have grown up there most of my life. However, I moved several times before moving to Virginia. I love the East coast and consider it my home.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon in a loving family that taught me the principles and beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I did not know until I was about 14 whether the Church was true or not. I believed that it was but I wanted to make sure that it was true for myself. While attending a week long church camp called Especially for Youth, an overwhelming confirmation came over me that this was the correct Church. I felt the Savior's love for me and all of His children. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he suffered for the sins, heartbreaks, and troubles of all mankind. I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet of God who restored Jesus Christ's church to the earth. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet of God on the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I am a Mormon because I feel the love of my Savior by being a member of His Church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being active in my church. While attending BYU, I taught the lesson once a month to the fellow women in my congregation and was an active participant when I am not teaching. I also visit with women in my congregation in order to build friendships and make sure that everyone is cared for. I attend Church weekly and I enjoy serving others in any capacity. I participate in community activities through my church, such as an annual food drive to help the homeless. I try to live my faith by loving and serving others.
