Hi I'm Brook Nelson

I like guitar, music, dancing, reading and singing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I sort of play guitar (sort of because Im not very good) and love it! Music is fantastic. Im kind of a nerd, I love pokemon and the nintendo 64 video games, favorites being ocarina of time and super smash brothers. I graduated high school in 2012 and have gone through one semester of college at BYU-Idaho so far and loved it :)

Why I am a Mormon

I don't know what my life would be like if I weren't a mormon. I know this church is true and it gives my life a direction. I know death is not the end of life and that brings me great comfort. We are here for a reason. Everything that happens to us, all the trials we go through and the hardships in our path. Bad things happen, it is part of life and we knew this when we chose to come here to this earth. But there are also good things that happen. Let the good overcome the bad. It is our choice how we look at things. If we are looking for the bad in life that is what we are going to find. If we look for the good, guess what! We will find it!! There is good all around us, beauty, and amazing people. Look at the good. This gospel has helped me to keep an "eternal perspective" on life, meaning to look at the big picture. Each trial we go through is just another piece to the puzzle of life and eventually when it is complete we will be able to see the full beauty. Until then, we just need to have faith. Choose to be happy. We cant always choose the things that happen to us, but we CAN choose our attitude towards those things. And that makes all the difference.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every week and listening to what the teachers and speakers have to say, if Im being honest I didn't used to like going to church. That was because I wasn't listening with an open heart, now that I actually pay attention and have opened myself to feeling the spirit it is an experience that I look forward to every week :) The ward members become your family which, being on a mission like I am right now, is a very much needed thing. Just trying to be a good example is a great way to live your faith and that is what I try to do each day.
