Hi I'm Rafii

I was born in California but grew up in Ireland. I work in Dublin as a Chartered Accountant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a soon to be dad who works as an Assurance Manager for one of the worlds largest professional services firms. I love sports and have tried many different types through the years. I love to travel and see the world. Working in New York for 4 months with my new wife was one of the highlights of my career! I look forward to what the future holds and am optimistic that there are good times ahead! This is a very exciting time for my wife and I as we await the arrival of our first baby! We've looked forward to this time for a while and now it is almost here. I know it will not always be easy, but it will be worth it. Being raised by religious parents I've always had a belief in God. My dad is Muslim and my mom joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was a baby. Growing up was difficult trying to decide what path was the right one for me to follow. My dad brought us to the Mosque and Madrasa with him, while mom brought us to Church and Sunday School. I'm really glad to have learned about different faiths and eventually to have been able to make my own decision. When I was 12 years old I decided to get baptised and become a Mormon. My dad wasn't too happy about it at the time, but he has grown to appreciate what the church has taught me and my brothers and how it continues to influence our lives. Being baptised as a member of the church is one of the best decisions I have ever made and my life has been infinitely blessed since that day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know it to be true. I've read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know it is true and I really feel that it contains Gods word, delivered to us by prophets who really lived and really communicated with God. I know there is a God who want's me to be happy and successful in life. I know he wants to have a relationship with me as any father would with his son, for he is the father of my spirit. God has always communicated with us through prophets, ancient and modern. I have felt his presence in my own life and I have felt his help when I have faced challenges - and in particular, when I have asked for it! God is good. He is real and he does care. That's why I believe. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My faith is very important to me and affects all aspects of my life. I have had many opportunities to serve in different capacities within the church, one of my favourites being with the youth. I've loved being a youth counselor both at home and abroad at youth camps and youth conferences. Currently I work closely with our local Bishop as one of his counselors. I feel my life has been greatly blessed as I have tried to do what I can to help others.
