Hi I'm Taylar

Raised in North Carolina. I am Preparing to serve a full-time, 18mo. mission. I am a Latter-day Saint!

About Me

I am 20 going on 21 years old, and preparing to serve a mission. I have only had a mission in mind for the past year, and committed to preparing for about 8 months. I Now have my call and I am nervous, but trusting in the Lord that all things are possible, and that he will provide as I strive to live the gospel. I have a large family with nieces and nephews that are 9, 2, 18 mo. and a year old. I am so close to them all and will find that my hardest challenge is to leave them. My brother having just returned from his 24 mo. mission April 17th, has inspiring stories and words for me, though it saddens me to leave him again having not reconnected fully again. My mother, though remarried, is the only other one in my household besides me because all the others are married or moved out and her husband works states away for months at a time. We have become very close over the past years and have become quite the pair. I love her dearly and cannot express how grateful I am to have had her for the past 20 years to raise and teach me all that I know. I know that this mission will bring not only the blessings of the gospel to others as i am lead to find them, but also it will bring so many countless blessings on my family, and I want only the best for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life. I am truly blessed because I do not know where I would be if I was not brought up with the foundation the church has given me. I am far from perfect, but I know that when everything else fails and I feel all alone, I can feel comforted when I turn to the lord, and live my life the way he has commanded that we should live it. I do love this gospel and try to live it the best that I can. I fall often and have to be humbled and try again and again. But no matter how discouraged or lost I feel, I know that I have those precious things which have been testified to me, that I cannot deny. I believe that I can become so much more than I am with the power and blessings of my loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I do not hold any official callings, but I have been teaching a Scripture study class on Wednesday evenings for members and investigators. I participate and assist in church activities when I can. I help the local missionaries of the church when they need help with investigators of anything. I figure "what goes around comes around." and if I help missionaries now, then when I go on my mission, I may be blessed to have member help ;)
