Hi I'm Joseph Guanzon

I'm a Mormon! I grew up in the Philippines and I'm serving right now as a Full-time missionary of the church

About Me

One of my interests is sculpting. As a sculptor, I'm really amused by the way you can form a figure with the use of your hands and tools. I enjoy figure sculpting and I also enjoy viewing different works of art as well. I am also interested in arts and crafts. In my spare time, I also bake pastries and I enjoy eating them too. I also love singing in choir groups. Meeting other people who love to sing is always fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon but I have proved to myself that I need to stay one because I know that the teachings and doctrines that we practice truly helped me as I grew up. As I continue to go to church, attend activities and in reading the Book of Mormon, I've felt in my heart the truthfulness of the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith is true and it will help each end every one of us regardless of our wealth, age, gender and standing in life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my desire to share the Message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others. Now, I serve the church as a "Full-time Missionary." In the span of two years, I'll leave my family, my educational pursuits and my other personal interests to focus solely in serving the Lord by sharing our message about Jesus Christ and the importance of families to other people. One way that I can say that I live my faith is by living a good life. And that means that I do my best to obey and honor the law and do my best to be a good citizen. Most important of all, be of good help to others and to our Loving Heavenly Father.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Joseph Guanzon
Intelligent design: No one can create our wonderful bodies, the earth, the animals, the sky, and everything that we see and do not see save it be Someone who is all powerful and all knowing. As we appreciate the creation, we can testify for ourselves that there is truly a God and He loves and watches over us. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Joseph Guanzon
We do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship God, our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We acknowledge and respect him for what he has done. Through him, the ancient truths of the gospel and also the authority to act upon God's name which we call the priesthood is restored. We love him dearly for all the sacrifices he has made and how courageous he was in the face of trials. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Joseph Guanzon
I'll explain this simply as I can: Authority is what makes things valid. So people need to act with authority to make their actions true, genuine and acceptable. It is comparable to a license. Without certification and a license, a teacher cannot teach, a lawyer cannot do his duties or a doctor cannot practice. The same applies with baptism. Baptism must be performed under the authority of the Priesthood which was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Show more Show less
