Hi I'm Abram

I'm a writer. I'm a runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a runner, and spent four awesome years on my high school's cross country and track teams. I love to write, and want to make a living writing professionally someday. I especially love writing comics, and I'm constantly practicing to get better at both writing and drawing. I'm going to college this fall, and then on a mission for the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. My parents taught me that it was true, and I never really had any reason to doubt. Yet, I've had numerous experiences that have tested and refined my faith, until I can say with a surety that I know. I KNOW that I know that God lives, and that his son Jesus Christ was sent to take away our sins. I know Christ suffered for our wrongdoings, and took upon himself all our sorrow, all our sickness, all our pain, and all our guilt, so that we could find peace and repent. I know that through repentance, we can move on with our lives, become better people, and eventually return to live with God and become like Him. I know that his true church has been restored to the earth, and that it is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the words of God, spoken by his prophets, and that such a prophet lives on the earth today: President Thomas S. Monson. I know that through God's plan, families can be together forever. I know He loves us, and he wants nothing but the best for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I serve in my ward by blessing the sacrament each week in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice for us. My dad and I go hometeaching every month. I try to be an example to those around me of a disciple of Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

It's fantastic. Knowing that I'm a child of God gives me hope that someday I can become perfect even as He is perfect. Faith in the Plan of Salvation gives me such uplifting perspective on my purpose in life and my role in helping others. Most of all, I rejoice to know that Jesus Christ is my savior, and that no matter what I'm going through, he understands me and knows my struggles better than I do. He is the greatest friend I could ever have, and thanks to him, I'll never have to face anything alone. Being his disciple means never flying solo, and it's the greatest feeling I can imagine.
