Hi I'm Caitlin

I'm a black belt in Taekwondo, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports and being active. I will try just about any sport at least once, but I also enjoy reading. I even fantasized about being a writer for a while, but decided to leave that to pursue History. I am a History major at Brigham Young University Idaho, and loving it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon religion, and I got baptized at 8, but I wasn't truly a Mormon until much later. For a very long time I felt alone in the world, and thought that there was nothing, and no one out there. I began praying, and slowly but surely I realized my prayers were being heard. I wondered why it was that God had left me for a time, but then I figured it out. God hadn't abandoned me, I had abandoned God. I was the one who had changed, I was the one who had strayed from the path that God wanted for me. When I returned to Him, I realized that He is unchanging, eternal, and my Father. I am His daughter, and I will strive to always live my life as His beloved daughter. I know that my Father sent His Son to the earth, to suffer for my sins and to die for me. Knowing this, I will do my best to be worthy of this sacrifice. I will never forget my Father, and I will never stop being grateful to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I know that Joseph Smith was an instrument in God's hands to bring about His work and glory. I know that Thomas S Monson is the living prophet of God, and that his words will help guide me here on this earth. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints is the true and living church of God. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I have been a substitute teacher for sunday school, teaching the younger kids (usually the 4 or 5 year olds). I didn't realize how easy wrangling 5 kids was until I tried to teach teenagers! Teaching kids that are just a few years younger then me was very trying, but as I learned to love them as God loves them, I realized that I wasn't the teacher, I was just the tool that God was using at the time to teach His word.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a prophet of the Lord. "Brother Joseph" as he was often called, was a tool in Gods hands to bring about the church in this day and age. God is unchanging and eternal. Therefore, his church is unchanging and eternal. Our Father and Jesus Christ set up a church anciently, with prophets and apostles. In our day, Thomas S Monson is the prophet, just as Joseph Smith was the prophet in the early 1800's. We do not worship Joseph Smith. We are thankful for his sacrifice and for his part in bringing about the Book of Mormon, but he was a man, just like Moses, Isaiah, and other ancient prophets. Show more Show less
