Hi I'm Carina

Grew up in the south. Attended BYU-Idaho.Majoring graphic design.Love to sing.Currently serving in the Washington Everett Mission.

About Me

I am a true Texan, through and through with a real Texas pride and love for my country. I love and cherish every moment I get to spend with my friends and family. In high school I was really big into music. I did multiple choirs, ensembles, small group numbers, musicals, show choirs, and participated as a choir officer and section leader for Alto 2's. Needless to say, I really love music. I also dabbled in volleyball in high school and really enjoyed it as well. After graduating I attending BYU-Idaho and truly thrived there. I am majoring in graphic design and just love all the art classes I am just beginning to take. I love all out doorsy type activities such as camping, four-wheeling, fishing, canoeing and off roading. But I also love girly things like dressing up, sappy love movies and I have a true addiction to nail polish. I, like anyone else have gone through some tough time in my life, but I am thankful for adversity, for it truly helps shape the person you become. I love to make new friends and meet new people. Most importantly though, I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I truly do not know where I would be without it. In my darkest of times, I have been able to lean on my testimony of Jesus Christ, and that he knows exactly how I am feeling. When I am struggling and hurting, he is the only one who has felt my pains, because he is the only one who atoned for all of my sins, and took on all of the hardship, the sin, the heartache and every pain ever felt by every person on this earth. I know of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, and when times are hard you can read and find comfort in the scriptures. I am thankful for the power of prayer. I know that if you faithfully pray to your Heavenly Father, he will answer you. He hears you and he loves you and he is concerned for our well-being. What greater joy can you find in anything, if not that? I am so thankful for my Savior and that he gave his life for me. I am so thankful, that in this gospel, you have the knowledge that this is not the only life. Our earthly life is not the end. We can and will see our loved ones in Heaven if we live righteously. I can't imagine going through life without that knowledge. This church has brought me such joy and has truly been my rock and foundation. What a greater thing to lean on then this gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day, by constantly being open about the things that I believe. I love when my friends ask me questions about my church, and I get to explain what I believe in, and why it is I believe in the things that I do. In my church I currently serve as one of the teachers in Sunday School, to the young adults. The class is titled "Gospel Essentials" where I get to teach young adults the basics of what we believe in our church. It has been intimidating to teach others, many of which are much older and wiser than me, but its has truly been a learner experiences and made me grow as I was tested outside of my comfort zone.
