Hi I'm Sher Rockhill

I live in Utah. I love to dance and share with others my passion for life. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am starting my sophomore year in college and major in Dental Hygiene. I danced as a member of the college dance company this last year and loved every second. I have danced since I was three years old and have found dance as one of my passions for life. I love sharing my talents with others as I perform and bring light into their lives. My greatest passion in life is sharing this gospel and truthfulness and peace I found through it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings happiness and peace in my life. When I live in harmony of the gospel, my life becomes simple and I am blessed. A few months ago, I was at a dance rehearsal working on a lift with my partner. I trusted my partner and told him to throw me as hard as he could and I would do the rest of the work. Sure enough, he threw me in the air as I spun up and over his head, down his back and landed on my head. The next thing I remember was being carried into a car to be rushed over to the hospital. I held onto my coach in the back seat while screaming and crying not remembering anything. I have never felt so alone, lost and scared in my life. When we got to the hospital, I was laid on a hospital bed in an empty room while they took a cat scan of my brain. As I was laying there, I remember praying out loud and pouring out my heart to the Lord. I was praying for peace and for me to be still so they could get a successful cat scan. My coach in the other room was also a member of the church, she had called some worthy priesthood holders to come to the hospital and give me a blessing. They dropped everything they were doing and came right over. All of the doctors left the room and they laid their hands on my head and gave me blessing. They blessed me with peace and comfort and perfect healing. I have never felt so much peace in my life. I felt Heavenly Fathers arms wrap around me and took all the fear I was feeling and felt it with comfort. The doctors came back in with the results of a severe concussion. I was to rest and everything was going to be fine. I knew that Heavenly Father had a greater purpose for me in life. I know that he knows me and cares for me. I know that this church is the only and true church on this earth. It will bring you so much joy and happiness into your life if you let it. I love this gospel!

How I live my faith

I live by faith by my example. I know that I am always representing the Lord at all times and in all places. I know that if I keep the commandments I will receive so many blessings and be happy. I teach in the primary, age 8 years old, in my home ward. Every week when we are talking about the different lessons, their faith and willingness to do whats right strengthens my testimony so much. Throughout the last year, all of my primary kids have been baptized and confirmed a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Their excitement for the church amazes me. It reminds me to become like a child and be quick to forgive, humble, meek, mild, kind and loving. I know that my Father in Heaven knows me more than anyone and he knows my efforts and willingness to serve him and do whats right. I know that by living worthily, keeping high standards, and trying my best, people around me will see the light of Christ in my life.
