Hi I'm Chase

I am a native Californian who loves great weather. I hope to become a doctor and be able to help others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student trying to do my very best and become the best man that I am capable of becoming. I have chosen to study about exercise and nutrition because those subjects have fascinated me ever since my early teenage years. When I am not studying, I love playing soccer, basketball, frisbee, tennis, and many other sports. I also enjoy jogging and weight-lifting. All of these activities help me to keep myself happy and healthy and they are great ways to make new friends. When I have time off from school I love travelling (the more exotic and thrilling the destination the better) and going camping, hiking, and backpacking. I also am becoming more and more interested in studying medicine. I am fascinated by and thankful for the service that doctors offer. Hopefully I will be able to help others improve their health someday. My family is very important to me. I am the oldest of eight children. I love returning home to visit my parents, brothers, and sisters because I know they love me because of their words and actions. My brothers are my best friends and I know that they will always be loyal friends. I am thankful for all of my other friends that motivate me to be a better person through their good examples.

Why I am a Mormon

Part of being a Mormon is making covenants, or promises, with God and then living up to those things we have promised. When I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I made a promise to God to always remember his son Jesus Christ. I also promised to keep all of God's commandments. A few of these commandments include loving and serving everyone, keeping my body healthy, being honest, and maintaining good thoughts. There are many promises that I have made with God and there are many commandments that I strive to live so that I can be faithful to those promises. Being faithful in not always easy but it is worth it. The reason it is worth it and the reason that I choose to be a Mormon is that God blesses us when we are faithful. God sent his son Jesus Christ to Earth as a sacrifice in behalf of us. Because of that sacrifice, Jesus Christ has the power to help us change; not just temporarily change our behavior, but permanently change who we are. What an amazing blessing! This improvement that I am talking about only happens when we make covenants with God and keep them. I have noticed the blessing of change many times in my life. One example is from a time in my life that I realized that I did not sincerely care about the welfare of others. I was selfish and self-center. This realization bothered me a lot and I desired to change. I asked God to help me. I also recommitted to do everything that he wants me to do. I was not completely changed in that instance. However, as I look back I can see that I am a different person; a more loving and less self-centered person. I know that it was God's power that helped me to change. I know that if I trust in God and am faithful to him that I will become the best person that I am capable of becoming. That is my greatest desire. That is why I am proud and thankful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try my best to practice what I believe. I believe that Jesus Christ lives. I believe that his example and his teaching should be a model for our lives so that we can find happiness in life and receive blessings from God. Jesus Christ's life was an example of service. Since I want to follow his example, I am trying to make my life one of service. I like to pray each morning and ask God to help me find ways to help others. Whether they be big or small, I am thankful for the opportunities to serve that I find. I find that I benefit a lot more than those I am able to help. Some of my best experiences have been merely noticing someone and being interest in them. I have met a lot of lonely people. I have felt alone at times in my life so I know to a degree what they are feeling and how to help them feel loved and important. I know that God is our father. I know that he loves us because of the countless times that he has answered my prayers and has helped me when I have asked him for help. I know that that he has given us commandments because he loves us. He knows us perfectly; even better than we know ourselves. He knows what is best for each one of us. Because of this, I do all that I can to fully follow each of his commandments because it is the only intelligent thing to do. When I am faithful to God's commandments I have his unfailing promise that everything will be for my good. I have seen that promise fulfilled many times in my life. Two of my favorite commandments are daily prayer and daily study of God's words. These activities help me to know what God wants me to do. I know that God and Jesus Christ want me to continuously improve. Prayer and study are what help me to know what, why, and how I can change.
