Hi I'm Jackson

I'm currently a Californian, I'm a Mormon missionary, and I LOVE life! :)

About Me

Hey my name is Jackson. I'm 20 years old and currently serving as a full time missionary in the Great California Ventura Mission, it's been awesome! I plan on going to BYU Idaho to further my education after my mission. I love to do outdoor activities like hiking, rock climbing, riding bikes, camping, etc. I love to adventure and surround myself in positive atmospheres where anyone can go and feel at peace. I've lived in Utah for pretty much my entire life other then a few months in Texas and two years in Virginia. I have four biological brothers, three step brothers, one step sister, one half brother, and one half sister. Don't worry we don't all live in the same house. While living in Virginia I lived at a boys home and I wasn't really involved with the church, in fact I actually fell away for awhile. But luckily for righteous friends and a wonderful supporting family, when I moved back here to Utah, I decided to make a choice, a choice to change my life around and focus on the more important things in life. By the grace of Jesus Christ and His Atonement I've had a change of heart and I now see what really matters and what is truly worth while. My relationship with Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ comes first, family comes next, and from there everything else falls into place.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is meant to be happy, joyful, and full of light, not filled with doom and gloom and sadness. Life is meant to be a learning, growing, strengthening, and fabulous experience and through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints anyone can find the life's purpose can be fulfilled. I found my true potential and I know now what I am capable of. I don't know 100% what God's plan for me is but that's alright because I understand that I'm not meant to know every little detail. I have found that all I need to do is trust in God and rely on Him to help me. Through this church I find that we each are unique and have individual talents that when combined and united we can bless the lives of countless others. This church helps me find who I am, what I am, where I came from, why I'm here, and what God has in store for me. I've come to know that the churches teachings are not that of man's but of deity. This is Christ's church and He is at the head of it. This gospel gives me a reason to wake up everyday and to find every reason to be happy. The list is endless on "why I am a Mormon", but it's simply because it's what brings joy and light to my life and to those around me and that's sufficient for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by giving back to others and try my hardest not to seek anything in return. It can be hard but I try to be humble. I've been given so much and couldn't possibly keep all these blessings to myself, blessings are meant to be shared. I love doing community service projects and helping everyone as much as I can. Serving as a missionary I have found that true satisfaction and a sense of achievement comes from selflessly giving of myself to the service of my brothers and sisters and then gratefully thanking my Father in Heaven for the chance to serve. I am always involved in church activities whenever I can. And I love taking every opportunity I can to strengthen my testimony of this gospel. But most of all, I try to live my faith wholeheartedly, and do my best to not have it be just a Sunday deal where we go dress up from three hours then throughout the week we're completely different people. I believe in having integrity, being true in doing what you know to be right even when you think nobody is watching, living everyday in harmony with the Saviors teachings, living each moment as if it is your last, and reaching out to others.
