Hi I'm Veronica Boucher

I lived in Utah until I was 10 years old. I have lived in Michigan for 9 years. I will graduate high school in 2 weeks.

About Me

My name is Veronica. My 20th birthday is a 9 weeks away. I love reading Shakespeare, murder mystery novels, taking walks or jogging, listening to music, doing puzzles and hiking. I will begin my 2nd year at college this fall. My favorite color is yellow because it lifts my spirits. I have an outrageous and hearty laugh. I love experiencing and learning about different cultures other than my own. I am learning to speak French and I want to learn sign language and Italian. I like using different accents during the day. It can make any conversation more interesting. I do not curse. Instead, I shout the names of foods and inanimate objects. I have mastered the "silent cry" thanks to Fast Sunday when other members share their testimonies. I love the smell of the earth after it rains. I love the smell of purple roses and lilacs. My favorite foods are celery and peanut butter, tacos or Mexican food and Chinese food. I have many favorite movies. A few of my favorite musicians are Elvis Presley, Rob Thomas, Celtic Thunder and Savage Garden. I'm a bit shy when I meet someone new, but make me laugh, and we'll get along! I purchased my first car on June 9th, 2014. It's a silver 1999 VW bug. It's a stick shift so I'm learning to drive all over again. As I grow older, I am trying to mold my spiritual self with my every day self. For years, I've 'turned off' my spiritual awareness during the week. Now, I see that I can be one person; the person Heavenly Father wants me to be.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I choose to continue living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was born and raised in the gospel. When I try to imagine what my life would be like without it, all I can see is darkness. I would be one of the many lost sheep in the night. I often think of the teenagers at my high school talk about the afterlife and the purpose of life. I want to shout at them, "Come here! I know the answer!" If only it were that simple; to tell someone and they would believe. I always knew that this gospel was the true gospel on the earth. The Holy Spirit tells me that it is true. I feel peace, but mostly excitement for what is to come. I know that there are more blessings waiting for me if I continue to live the gospel faithfully. When I feel upset or particularly down trodden by the negativity of the world, I sit down and feel the tears well up in my eyes. I feel my heart sink to the bottom of an ocean, being crushed with the infinite pressure of despair and failure. When I am at my lowest......that is when I see it: the light. The light of Christ that is burning brightly within my soul. It fills my heart with peace and it brings me back because I KNOW that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He saves me every single day. I would be so lost without Him. I feel that I am nothing sometimes then I REMEMBER. He loves me and He thinks that I am beautiful. It has taken me a long time to admit that to myself, but I know that there is one person that knows me and knows my heart. I truly believe the Atonement was meant for us and Jesus Christ died to give me passage into Heaven. I know that Heavenly Father gives me strength when I ask him. I know that I am never alone. This gospel inspires me to be more like Jesus Christ. I want to be ALL that He wants me to be. I know that I can do anything with Him. The gospel of Jesus Christ is my life's natural sweetener! In a bitter world, I have the sweetest cup of joy in Him!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every week and preparing my lesson for my primary kids. I received the calling to teach the Valiants (8-11 year old kids) in November 2013. It has been such a blessing. I enjoy learning with them. I do my best to uphold my standards outside of church/church related activities. It has been challenging throughout my entire academic career to remember the promises I made to myself and to my Heavenly Father. I try to read the scriptures as often as I can and pray often. I am one of the most inconstant individuals you may meet, but my love for my Savior has never faltered. I receive much strength from prayer. During the week, I always remember something from Sunday School that I can use to help myself or someone else. The teachings of Jesus Christ have truly benefited my life. The most important thing that I do to live my faith is: REMEMBER. I constantly think about what the Savior has done for me and all of his children on earth. It inspires me to act upon the things in which I believe to be true. I have a job at Kilwins in Harbor Springs in which I work very hard. I also bought my first car. I know that those blessings come from the Lord. He gave those things to me. I am so blessed to have all that I need and more. I refer to my patriarchal blessing all of the time. It gives me direction and inspiration. I am motivated to be the woman Heavenly Father wants me to be. He is waiting to let certain people and blessings into my life. I just have become the spiritual giant I know that I can be. I live my faith by remembering and being an example to others. When others ask me about the church, I do my best to answer them. Living the gospel may never be easy, but it has lead me to an eternal family and will lead me to eternal happiness with my future husband and children. I am never afraid for I know how my story will end; everlasting joy and peace with all of the people I love including Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
