Hi I'm Megan Swartz

I love music, I love to create art, and I love nature. I'm a morman.

About Me

I have lived in Alabama most of my life, but was actually born in Utah. I have a really large family that has grown up in the gospel. I am an only child, but I am the second of twenty four grandchildren, so I don't miss having siblings. I have grown up with just my mother, and it has been very interesting. I absolutely love everything about the fine arts. I have loved playing my clarinet. I have also done many art courses and am proficient at making art. I can do many types, but I prefer drawing people. I find the human face really interesting. Although I am stuck at home for a while, my dream is to go to college and be a music education major. Overall I am very creative and when I have an idea, I like to follow through with it. So because of that, many people are in awe when they see what I have done.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in this church, so I haven't known any different. I didn't question it until I got old enough to experience how other people lived. I have had a time that i wasn't so sure that i believed in the church. As I got my callings, I was able to understand more, especially when I was able to talk to others about their testimony. I was able to gain my own testimony from the experiences I had. I fully believe that this church is true, and that this is Jesus's church in the modern day. I know that the prophet is the interpreter of god, that through him, we know what to do. I know if i follow what this church teaches, that I will be with our heavenly father again.

How I live my faith

In my ward, i have a few different callings. My first one is in our main meeting. I am the music director, I get to lead the whole congregation in music. I am also a teacher in the meeting for all our women. I also enjoy visiting some sisters in their homes. Even though I am there to bring a message, they always inspire me. I help whenever I can, and lately I have the joy of substituting in the kids class. It is always a joy to do that.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Megan Swartz
Not everyone in the world, has the same chances as many of us during their life. When the gospel was taken off this earth for a time, the people didn't know any better. God is merciful and just and wants all of his children to have the same opportunities. Even in death, people are being taught the gospel, and they can't progress until these ordinances be done. So we do it, so they have a choice. Show more Show less
